Shaolin, I can't imagine you would do such a thing as expelling air. such a repeated sharp flexing of those muscles disrupts your breathing, and also leads to fatigue,on top of that for the split moment the muscles are flexed would allow a blow to actually have an impact upon their stance. Is it possible your knowledge with taekwondo clouding the way you analyze this demonstration?Taekwondo is pure power style derived from the wartorn battlefield.But Chinese kung fu is different

Zui Quan. One of the Wushu based styles, yes very effective. The basic Ideal of the style is to use gyration to develop strong attacks at vital points and using the gyrative movments to cause confusion. Truly, one of the best syles availible. I would loke to see itcompred to JKD (Jeet Kune Do). Both have similar emphasis on deception and precogniatibe strike.
Drunken boxing is fake. Nobody, anywhere, ever has used that shit to win a real fight.

@qzniel The term drunken boxing may be, but Drunken monkey form is a legit kung-fu technique used in many shaolin monasteries as well as the wudang mountains. Another ancient form is Zui Quan which is slightly similar, however Zui Quan technique imitates the form of a drunken human whereas Drunken monkey imitates that of a drunk monkey drinking stolen wine, most likely deriving from ancient stories as one could imagine.

actually, it is an extremely effective fighting style. Probably more so than any other style of martial art I have studied. I can't tell you how surprised your opponent will be once he realizes, far too late, that you AREN'T really drunk at all. I have completely destroyed more than a few bar bullies with this style.
I think any opponent would realise that you are not drunk, because you and he have probably just been arguing for 5 minutes prior to the fight starting, all of a sudden you start moving like a retard, like the woman at the satrt of the film... that ain't going to put anyone off or make them think you are drunk.
Funny, most of the fights I see involve little or no talking at all. Usually it's some jackass stiff shouldering people or harassing women. Maybe the 'rules' are different where you live but there SURE AS HELL is no rule where I live that states that you must FIRST argue with someone 'for 5 minutes' before they start throwing punches at you.

you see my problem is i love the kung fu styles and the beauty of the art, but i cant the emotionless way that the moves are demonstrated. i my self take taekwondo and we have more emotion with the kia's. im saying i want them to yell with every move like see alot of schools doing, but you dont see them even expelling air to tighten the stomach and mucsels for power or focus. i love the ar,t just the emotionless sorta erks me i guess. even im a demonstration like this.

Shaolin, I can't imagine you would do such a thing as expelling air. such a repeated sharp flexing of those muscles disrupts your breathing, and also leads to fatigue,on top of that for the split moment the muscles are flexed would allow a blow to actually have an impact upon their stance. Is it possible your knowledge with taekwondo clouding the way you analyze this demonstration?Taekwondo is pure power style derived from the wartorn battlefield.But Chinese kung fu is different

@cascocat : P I know about how Tae kwon do came to be..and yes, it did start on the battlefield,but as a different form that was heavily worked into what eventually became TKD,then became a competitive art.... are you saying there weren't wars hundreds of years ago? :/ I stand by what I say about the chinese martial arts..and why they seem 'emotionless'..but apparently you didn't bother reading what I said right after this comment. Zui Quan. One of the Wushu based styles, yes very effective. The basic Ideal of the style is to use gyration to develop strong attacks at vital points and using the gyrative movments to cause confusion. Truly, one of the best syles availible. I would loke to see itcompred to JKD (Jeet Kune Do). Both have similar emphasis on deception and precogniatibe strike.

Second, JKD is in no way about deception.
... and "precogniatibe" is not a word. If you're looking for "precognitive" - that is also wrong. Seeing how it's is not possible for you to know what your opponent is going to do, before he does it.

@qzniel The term drunken boxing may be, but Drunken monkey form is a legit kung-fu technique used in many shaolin monasteries as well as the wudang mountains. Another ancient form is Zui Quan which is slightly similar, however Zui Quan technique imitates the form of a drunken human whereas Drunken monkey imitates that of a drunk monkey drinking stolen wine, most likely deriving from ancient stories as one could imagine.

actually, it is an extremely effective fighting style. Probably more so than any other style of martial art I have studied. I can't tell you how surprised your opponent will be once he realizes, far too late, that you AREN'T really drunk at all. I have completely destroyed more than a few bar bullies with this style.

I think any opponent would realise that you are not drunk, because you and he have probably just been arguing for 5 minutes prior to the fight starting, all of a sudden you start moving like a retard, like the woman at the satrt of the film... that ain't going to put anyone off or make them think you are drunk.

Funny, most of the fights I see involve little or no talking at all. Usually it's some jackass stiff shouldering people or harassing women. Maybe the 'rules' are different where you live but there SURE AS HELL is no rule where I live that states that you must FIRST argue with someone 'for 5 minutes' before they start throwing punches at you.
