after you listen to the dvd commentary, you understand why they made it the way they did. it wasn't like they weren't familiar Anne Rice's work, its just that putting the stories of two books into an hour and a half long movie is pretty fucking hard as opposed to turning it into a mini-series.

that movies for u. almost all of them dont follow the books. just like Twilight and Memoirs of a Geisha; they didnt entirely go by the books either. i loved the movie tho and the music is incredible
