Ok scratch that theory. Here is another one theory, the basis for the footage I saw. the rangers go to battle Turban Shell. The megazord has a one on one with the monster. It loses and the zords are damaged. In the Pirantishead footage, it shows Tommy running to the rangers. dragonzord has a one on one with the monster. It loses aswell. Sunddenly Tyranno and Dragon attack the city, and oen all six rangers one Piran appears behind time, them being unaware.
I am guessing why they don't call on their Zords right away is because they were already taken over.
When they run to see Turban Shell, this was the first time he started destroying the city, but on the ground they were really seeing their zords instead of Turban Shell.
there was still a suit for a human size turban shell though. judging from that, perhaps there's a small bit of hope that there could have been a ground battle.
I get the feeling Turban Shell was a permanently giant monster. They wouldn't throw out their best footage (I.E. Ground fights) and only keep a monster's zord footage. That's ass backwards for the Thunder Megazord splicing.
I'd hate to live in Angel Grove. A very good chance you'd be rendered homeless with these giant monsters and megazords tearing up the town.

Cmdr Crayfish theorized that there might be one. During it, Dan (Blue) would then deduce the monsters weakness to heat.

I'd heard pirantishead and turban shell were in the same footage... Turban shell got them to call the mecha/zords and pirantishead took control.

I'm sure there was footage of a ground battle, but they didn't use it. Maybe it had something to do with Pirantishead/Turbanshell...
