This vid is entirely credible. Flu kills people all the time, and the problem lies in delayed or nonexistent treatment. The reason Malaria, which is as treatable ideally as the flu, is such a problem is because sufferers are getting crap medicine.

And sufferers in countries like Nigeria are uneducated and poor enough to risk buying a cheaper version of what looks like the same medicine. The logic in this video is sound from where I'm standing.

The vid would have more credibility if it didn't have, early on, malaria no more dangerous than a dose of the flu. Also, why 52 minutes when the solution here is easy. You buy your medicines from a reputable dealer, and not Joe Nigeria there walking through the market with "meds" in a basket on his head. Lastly, beyond the education and license enforcement campaign, the other part of solution here is death penalty on conviction for the unlicensed sale and the sale of counterfeit drugs.

The drug fiasco is killing as many people as has the misguided campaign against the use of DDT.

Malaria was killing 100,000s people each year in Africa for decades until DDT began to be used in force. DDT reduced African deaths to a minimum, but the Green movement, led by Rachel Carlson, was able to stop the use of DDT because of concerns that it was dangerous to the birds.

So, to save the birds, DDT use was halted and 100,000s of people have died each year since. Priorities, priorities...
