1984 is an amazing book... A bit depressing, but amazing. It is a poignant warning from Orwell, no matter the time. The threat of distopia always stands.
The date HE predicted may have passed, but remember, as it says in the book, misinformation is so rampant, that noone can really be sure if it truly IS 1984
@3Sciencenut I agree but the name of the book has a fair few theories behind it. 1948 - 1984 being the simplest lol but the one I find most interesting is that 1984 is the centenary of The Fabian Society: which both H G Wells, Aldous Huxley and Orwell were part of....

A song about Nineteen Eighty-Four of all things should not be this bouncy. And I can't stop listening to it.
Also the cartoon with the state workers is more reminiscent of Brave New World, not Nineteen Eighty-Four.
