grumpy i do not wish to diminish your excellent work but during the msndolin concerto there was something scrolling at the bottom of the frame that could not be read if important you might want to adjust the text just a little so it can be read. but other than that tiny error.excellent music and visual compelation
Good music is good music and that won't change. Thanks for sharing with us. The photos--taken by you? And the paintings--were those yours by chance? If so, you are a mightlily talented man. If we only knew the truth, eh? It shows in your good taste. Bravo!
Thanks for your kind comments Silver65. I didn't take the photos (though I did shoot the scene of the tree with the red berries). Yes, the paintings for the Concerto for Strings in the middle are are mine (I was in desperate need of images) and there are a couple of my paintings at the end, mixed in with Turner and Renoir. Clever of you to notice
Arvo Part hasn't been around long enough to qualify (durability was one of the five factors, and that is only proven over time. I'm not sure how history will judge the minimalists like Part). Also, although he has produced an impressive body of work, I do not think the range and depth of his output really compares with the other composers in the top ten. This factor has ruled out some other important composers.
To me some Arvo Part songs are just timeless.. Two best examples are 'Fur Alina' and 'Spiegel im Spiegel'. I can just listen to those over and over and over again.
Arvo is popular already and is going to be even more so after his death. I called it first. :D

You seem to favor his more moody works. He also some some wonderful up-beat ones.

I guess I'm a moody kind of guy - that's why I'm so grumpy.

A wonderful video GrumpyOldGuy...visually uplifting with the perfect orchestral accompaniment. Thank you for putting this together for us.

I'm afraid it's too late to do anything about it. (I was hoping nobody would notice!) I actually tried to get rid of the text altogether.
OldGrumpyGuy 3 years ago

Ah, I got it, you saw some of the paintings in the background of some of my videos. Anyway, very observant

I appreciate your videos on this man. Now I at least know who composed some of the most famous 'tunes' that we've heard over and over again on TV.

Great vid, as always. Nice of you to slip in a pic of Diana Riggs at 3:37 =^[.]~=.

Vivaldi has gone up a lot in my estimation since seeing these videos on him (and not because he wrote the first rock song!).
