Greed and corruption caused the loan debacle. No bank, without a mandate to do so which does not exist, would act against its own interest for the sake of political correctness.

No, but it will do so if the government forces them to. The government basically told banks that they MUST loan to certain minorities and low-income levels because, to them, getting a loan was more of a "right," whether or not you could pay for it wasn't as important. So they gave out loans to people who otherwise wouldn't have qualified (because of legislation the Democrats pushed through under the logic of what I said above) and now we're in this mess.

I think Mccain is a Dem insider pretending to be a Repub. Nobody can be this bad at a debate against Obama who's dripping w scandals & corruption. The fact that he won't name names about Fannie & Freddie, ACORN, Wright, etc leads me to think so. Also how did Mccain win the primaries when the conservative base which is the maj don't like or support him? Don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but something doesn't sound right about his reluctance to attack Dem & Obama but will attack Repub

I dont think he's an operative but he is a bone-head for leaving the wright issue alone. That large protion of Obama's life is a testiment to what he believes and who he will allign himself with. Wright wasn't just some guy he knew he was his mentor.

That being said there is I think a big difference between the ability to campaign and the ability to run the country. Mccain can't compete with the rock star. that's why he'll lose; Because people would rather watch dancing with the stars.
