  • @TankedEmNiqqa I FEEL YOUR PAAAAAIIIIIINNN.

  • i am in college and i am watching this @@

  • no its not "flip and dip" its flip the guy and multiply! how do u know the second fraction is the guy? cuz ladies first! :P

  • LOL IM IN 7TH GRADE TWO I CANT BELIEVE THAT IM WATCHING THIS

  • @aneebonegun and im in 9th :P

  • Your teacher is now a famous math star xD

  • I'm in the seventh grade and ALL advanced classes and straight A student. And i have NO idea how to divide fractions at all. :P

  • If you still listening to the comments thats called reprocial

  • thanks. lol

  • im in the 7th grade...... *awkward silence* and im in honors class *double awkward silence*

  • @TheDarknessOfVoid I AM ALSo In 7Th Grade :D

  • Should have finished your reducing withing the division problem.

  • That was a great review for me! Haha. A six year old riding on a four year old. :)

  • thumbs up at the end you heard talking and at 2:18 you heard a shhhhhhh

  • six years old riding on 4 years old,

  • @toyota4you

    LOL!!!!!!!

  • haha,i figured out ur question before you even asked it.

  • Best... Teacher... Ever... (I wish you were my tutor!)

  • Are we done yet? Nooo! LOL

  • When people are sarcastic deep inside their heart is an egocentric spirit ...they should be happy and thankful for this teacher/uploader is helping many.

  • ty so much this helped me a lot :)

  • The thing I like about higher math is that improper fractions are welcome. 3/2 would have been a perfectly good answer.

  • this helped me alot!

  • lmAO

  • nevermind damn i even suck at fifth grade math

  • 2\3

  • boring

  • Thank you so much now i get it my teacher is like 67 years old so thank you

  • Excellent point. Mathematics is not about getting answers quickly or making true statements, it is about getting the correct answer and following the rules. (Of course the previous was all sarcasm.) Unfortunately, you are only encouraging this by saying that the answer only matters. The fact is that you can divide the numerators and denominators when dividing fractions (though it is not always easy to do so). I'll try to stick with making true statements (when I can).

  • thanks?

  • boo?

  • ThankYou ThankYou ThankYou THANKYOU!

jeeeez if only our teacher made is this easy to understand!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

  • u helped me alottttttttttttttttttttttt with my test AND homework!!!!!!!!!!

  • its funny watching him use a whiteboard cuz my school use smart boards.

  • Thanks for the refresher. It's difficult being left-handed and using dry-erase or chalk boards.

  • You totally helped me with a test! THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Thumbs up if you think the people who thumbed down are people who fail)

  • This just proves the internet can be used for good instead of evil

  • very helpful =)

  • Thank you! Now I really get it! You are a math wizard!

  • this is good but poor quality and he should use a mic as to not hear the kids in the back ground

  • The video is incorrect. You can divide across when dividing fractions. 3 ÷ 1 = 3 and 4 ÷ 2 = 2 so 3/4 ÷ 1/4 is 3/2. Mathematical ignorance rules the day in the U.S.!

  • Yur Wronq Because it is biq headed n yu have to simplify it to the lowest term{SLEEPER 2345}

  • @MrZL0LsmILeYFACe1

Sorry that you are so confused.

  • @sleeper2345 He may have been wrong in some factor, but the end result of the equation was absolutely correct. So yeah.

  • that was great!!! ur a genius

  • Thank you!

  • helped me a lot!

  • very good! thanks for teaching!

  • thanks!

  • Awesome video, I found this by Google, and will say more teacher should use Youtube to thier advantage.

  • I think i might even subscribe to you

  • Thank you I'm in the 6th grade and I forgot how to mutiply fractions and i'm in a advanced lerning class for math and my teacher would of got pissed of if I forgot so thank you. you explaned it better then all the other videos

  • thanks SOO much sir I just came to middle school and i forgot how to do this and my HW had me divide fractions so i came to here. Thanks again

  • thank god for you!!! im going into 5th grade and i have no clue how to divide fractions!!! thank god your here!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @goco789489 is that sarcastic?

  • thats why i didnt learn this very well in 5th grade.... flips, dips, divide symbol, and long division. i see reciprocal and common integer.

  • im not a teacher though....

  • This video really helped me and was very interesting! Thanks! ;)

  • omg what a shame.. l just got into college. n since my major is liberal studies l'm stuck with fractions and decimals . the thing is that my teacher doesn't wana us 2 solve using Algorithm, but pattern blocks.. l just can't get it.

  • Thnx so much :)

  • haha im in middle school totally forgot how to do these but thank god for you haha thank you so much you just saved me from third period.

  • oy..me too.... now I get it....third period is my math too -_-

  • im in 5th grade, and this is awesome advice

  • this is very helpful because i go to lawrence jhs and my accelerated math teacher miss donnely gave us a math pretest on this so i looked ahead and saw dividing fractions so i needed help thanks joshrandall

  • how sad i For Got how to Fractions=/ lol

  • i need this for this year

  • there's an easer way to make an improper fraction to a mixed number. subtract numerator by denumerator. add a oune to the side. ( kepp doing this if the numerator is bigger than the denumerator).

  • thanks i nearly forgot about fractions and im in high school.

  • 5th grade math... lol

I graduated from high school last month and I forgot how to do this xD

  • Lmao me too!! XD!

  • Super way to explain! Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video!

  • i already know this when im at 3rd grade XD

  • IS THIS KEEP CHANGE AND FIP

  • After you got 6/4 i was completely lost.

Im in year 10, this is hard.

  • Flip a Dip? :L

    Great Video Though.

  • thanks u helped me alot

  • this is easy i'm in 5th and i'm doing polynomials(9th)check out my vid of me doing it too)

  • OMG 5th grade im barely learning this YO!

i learned that you see how many times the denomiater in the numerater so 4 can go in 1 time without going over so it would be 1 whole and 2/4 but the last part i dont know how to do

GREAT VIDEO YOU SAVED MA LIFE!!

  • I dont get it..... im a 5th grader but im bearly learning this. OMG!!!!! how am i gonna go to 6th grade like this??

  • same 4 m

  • Thank you this will help me on my Fcat!

  • Why does that work?

  • strait up

  • THIS GUY IS A GREAT TEACHER

  • I am 50 years old and use calculators exclusively. I forgot all this stuff. I have a grandson whom I want to avoid the generational gap with. So I watch and relearn.

  • this is greatthanks you just helped me with my HW

  • thank you alots

  • stop saying mean things about this guy! He's trying to teach us!

  • Seriously. Kids can be straight up brats when someone is sharing knowledge. This guy seems like he would be a cool teacher, too.

I have to admit, though I'm 23 years old and I'm watching this to refresh my memory.. I havent used this kind of math in so many years, so I've forgotten haha.

  • this is the long way.

  • ok so how am i a nerd exactly, if i know something that somebody else doesnt know i think i'd tell them to make it easier so just because im smart doesnt make me a nerd, btw i like your cat

  • Wow, I'm a sophomore in honors math and I forgot how to do something as simple as this...XD ironic

  • Same he its been so long man my teacher just laughed his ass off when I told him

  • XD funny how things work

  • that was good but why not just cross cancel from the start of multiplying its easy and it goes faster

  • nerd

  • I'm in 8th grade though... XD

  • yo mama!...u still live in yo mommas home!foo!

  • THank You so much! That helped.

  • thank you so much ..this is way easier than I recalled! I need this math to pass a para test!

  • This is a good lesson, but could be better. "Flip and Dip" is just a meaningless algorithm. It doesn't truly help students understand why we multiply by the reciprocal. Watch MathTV's lesson on this to get a better idea. Also, manipulatives like pattern blocks can be very useful with this topic. Phrases like, "This is how we divide fractions," represent showing how to divide fractions rather than teaching why we divide fractions.(I have a degree in Elem. Educ. with a minor in math.)

  • thanks 4 vid, this should help me next week in sats.... :(

  • was it a 9 or a 4?

  • 4.... he said it was

  • this helps

  • Thanks iam just reviewing it for my math accalerated test

  • no offence but i hate it when teachers or mentors use like "flip and dio" or somthing else to try to remember the thing that were trying to learn. just get straight to the point.

  • Little phrases like that may sound corny, but they are powerful mnemonic devices for kids and adults alike. The majority of learners don't learn optimally by simply remembering steps by rote.

  • i know right its like we aren't 5 ya know. my 4th grade teacher told us that when ever we multiplied and brought the zero down to draw a smiley face in the zero. and when we brought like decimals over she said the little loops looked like her sons butt!and she was like that'll help you remember. and i was like aww dude i am trying to forget!

  • yeah lol

  • Thanks for your help. I'm just trying to brush up on the basics. Using calculators all the time makes you forget a lot.

  • u suck this didn't help me at all i failed the most important test of the year. y don't u go flip and dip urself!

  • u oviously didnt wtch the vid v well then did u..... retard!

  • dude it's the teachers job to make the student understand so if i am retarded its because the teachers aren't teaching me the right way. everyone learns differently and i don't appreciate being called a retard neither.and i watched this like 10 times i never got it. not my fault thats not the way i learn. mybe he just sux at teaching some kids. but i dont care teachers need to know how to teach ALL kids.they shouldn't be tryin to teach every kid the same.so shut up,i got a right to be pissed.

  • lol...funny comment

  • and thank you i wasn't tryin to be funny but thank you

  • Great teachings.. thanks alot bro i appreciate the help.

  • hehe im in grade 8 and i use this for help :D

  • yay

  • makeom 15 minets ok it will be beter

  • judt showed this video to my son-it's a good video for a 5th grader the negative comments must be from people who would complain about anything

  • wow thanks alot now i get it all my teacher does is row if we dont get it >.> but thanks alot now i can finish my homework =D

  • great now i get it

  • ty, my teacher never teaches us she just gives us worksheets

  • then shes not a teacher, shes a fucking printer.

  • lol

  • @kimiaa 5th graders are watching this video for help and they might see your comment with a curse word!

  • @MsKittylover100 OH SHIITTTT SOON!! FUCKKKKK!!!!

  • @boysinblack lmfao

  • Booo!!!!

  • this is an awesome...

    It just bothers me

Bc you cant times the top

well you can but that is the qwick way,,,

It doesn't show that you can do mathmatical power!

  • wow ur awsesome u really helped me with my quiz... i got an a ...THANK!!

  • The fraction that you used as an example I think it was not a good one for showing how to divide fractions, since the way we divide fractions is exactly the same as multiplication. We can divide numerator by numerator and then divide both denominators, we need to flip over ONLY if this does not work.

Maybe you already know this, but I think you should not say to the students that you CANNOT do it this way.

    Thanks

    Sandra

  • he looks like a drunk

  • Nice video. We are looking for some online math tutor. If interested, please send me a message or check out
