  • I love love looove the dress, but I can't understand your directions :( can you please do another video, just rephrase it a little

  • Can you email me the name of this song?

  • yay!!!! i cant wate to make this!!

  • i've made tops and dress before, but i've never figured out how to sew the elastic bit (round the waist) like you have .. could you briefly explain please? because i love maxi dress and i have some really cool fabric i can use ! Thanks x

  • LOVE THE OUTBACK TEE! HEHE

  • i cant understand your directions

  • this is just beautiful!

  • Hi, really love the idea of making maxi dresses using bed sheets. Now I'll have to rummage for some really gorgeous sheets to make one!

  • Lovely in sheets

  • This is such a genius idea! I'm planning on making a couple of different ones for Easter season. I was wondering if you add the elastic to both the front and the back of the dress or just to the front side?

  • @TheCleaningMix Hey hey! Add the elastic to both sides hun :-)

  • great idea

  • Love it! definitely going to try :)

  • Lovely idea. Just goes to show what you can do with a bit of elastic. Well done!

  • Oh my goodness! You're so creative and stylish. This is so simple and yet I never would have thought of it!

  • Hi girl, i LOVE this project and am about to make my own version. i was just wondering if there was a certain reason for you inserting the short piece of the sheet into the bodice part ? Can't i just use one layer instead??- (just the long piece i mean) thx xxx

  • @Leslily83 You could but the sheet is fairly shear so it might be a bit see through. The other insert is to stop people from seeing your undies! lol. Hope everything goes well!

  • I was just wondering one thing. How did you get sewn into the waist? did you do it by hand or sewing machine? Can you show a little better how you did it if you did it by hand? dress is so nice

  • wow....so nice...

  • this make at home dress is genius, not to mention the dif ways u show us to wear it!!! couple questions though---can i sew this by hand? and if i'm a 5'1 & a size 1, what size sheet to by, twin or full? i do realize i'll probably have to cut off the bottom, but what size sheet would i buy? like to start on this this weekend. could u please, please get back to me-i'd really appreciate it, thanks

  • Wow very nice dress and great idea thank you

  • I'm sorry to ask, but what size and how tall are you? I'm really petite and was wondering if I would have to use a smaller sheet (or cut it shorter)? Love this video! :) I just subscribed!

  • @simplyserendipity Hey hun! I'm 1.67 meters tall and about a size 10. If you need to I would recommend cutting the sheet smaller both length ways and width ways because otherwise it will swim on you :-)

  • O M G Awesome!!!! Thank you so much!

  • nice idea!!!

  • U SOUND LIKE CLAIRE FROM LOST!!

  • THAT IS SMART! =O

  • very nice i will try it soon thank you

  • amazing,i love th dress!very creative bravo missy!

  • Hello ! I just had one question, I'm making the dress now and I was wondering if you top stitch the arm hole only, the top part where the ribbon goes only or both ?? thanks : )

  • @HeartOfLife77 It's both babe :-)

  • i have just made this dress....and its fab!!

Im getting married in July and i am making 4 adult sized and 3 kids size dresses for my bridal party!

thank you for posting this video! you have saved me allot of money on shop bought dresses and its only took me 3 hours to make one dress.

your very talented and im so glad i found this video!!

    Thanks Again xxxx

  • @LJK2212 You just made my day! I'm stoked you gave my ideas a chance and I hope you have an amazing wedding day. Thanks for taking the time to comment :-)

  • @amynotsomuch i love the music almost as much as the dress. Can you please give me the the title of the spanish(i think) number you used please?

The jazzy quality suits the dress...:-)

  • By the way, what size of sheet did you use? Twin or Queen?

  • @GoesTheRain It was a single babe :-)

  • I must say, well done!! I LOVE this and can't wait to try it out! :)

  • Omg this dress is causing me pain lol! I've tried 3 times now to make it. I get so confused after cutting the arm holes out... argh!

  • The bubble dress is such a great idea

  • wow great idea!

  • Hi! first i think that this dress is sooo pretty, i just can't wait to sew it :-) But i live i Denmark, and in Denmark it so cold that we don't sleep with those kind of sheets - its just to cold! so could you please give me the measurements for the sheet? I'll just buy some fabric then :-) Please answer me fast!, i can't wait to make the dress! thank you so much!<3

  • @AstridGott You don't mind I suggest something? You could use just a normal sheet that you put around your blanket.. you know at 01:40 it looks like it's already double.. Så hvis du bruger et dyne lagen, det er jo allerede dobbelt, så tror jeg at det giver det samme ;) Er lidt i tvivl om det hun bruger i videoen ikke er det samme som vi har her i DK?

  • ohkay, I got to as far as laying the bedsheet down on the floor.... and then I got lost. :s

but its a really nice to reuse things for the better! :)

  • This video confused me...

  • LOVE IT!!!! <3

  • legal gostei linda maravilhosa

  • Very cute! =) the kind of dress I used to wear when I was a teen! =) yes, I'm old! lol

  • I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It's Exactly my style, thank you very much for sharing!!!!

  • I tried to make this but the top came out kinda weird. What size sheet did you use? And also, it may sound stupid, but how did you get the elastic on? =D

  • @kennectpop Hey! pleased to hear you're giving the dress another go. I've used a size single sheet. To sew the elastic on stretch it out over the fabric, pin it on when its stretched, and then when you're sewing it make sure that you stretch the elastic and fabric out. Hopefully that makes sense to you :-) Good luck hun

  • You, i love you. Hahaha. Sorry. I've been wanting to buy a sewing machine for so long to be able to make my own dresses, like this one. I only wear dresses and skirts, so I get tired of having to buy them when i've thought it could be this easy. First tutorial I've found where it showed the ideas I had for beautiful simplicity IS acheivable! LOVELY dress.

  • I'm super new to sewing and want to attempt this. I was just wondering, was the sheet kind of stretchy or just a regular cotton/poly sheet?

  • @BadgeBunnyDiva It was just a plain non-stretchy cotton sheet :-) I hope your sewing project goes well. Have fun!

  • WOW this is amazing. I am definately going to have a go at this! I love how one dress can look so different too. :)

  • very nice. i like the bubble dress idea with the hidden belt

  • this is the best tutoral ever!!!.. i managed to tweek your idea a bit and turn it into a dress suitable for a formal.

  • Love your accent!

    Also, LOVE the dress!

  • that is freaking cool!

  • si estuviera en español U.U

  • @1.05 hahaaaaa u r cute =D

  • I just love the way you fabricated this dress.....you are amazing. I just gave $35 to a tailor to stitch something similar. LOL. I should have given it to you....LOL. Take care.

  • you are genius!!!

  • r u from new zea land???

  • @baguziwo1 Yea I am :-)

  • soo good i wanna do this your awesome!

    thumbs up if you agree

  • soo good i wanna do this your awesome!

  • this was really interesting, but I am really confused about what you did at the beginning with the two sections of fabric when you thrust the smaller part inside the bigger part. was that the top or bottom? was it turned inside out?

  • you got talent girl :)

  • Kinda wish you would have jumped directly to the demo and left all of the other dramatics behind. Once your started talking I almost closed out the screen.

  • WoW! Super! Super COOL!!! :) I just subbed :)

  • I am glad I made your day, you made my day by telling me that. I just went out and bought a sheet very similar to yours. I cannot wait!

  • This awesome! I had to get an account just so I could comment on this and I have been using you tube for years! I really appreciate that you showed us alternative ways to wear it, brilliant.

  • @rubystonesjewels lol, aw that's really sweet of you! I hope this project goes really well for you :-) Thanks heaps for commenting...you made my day!

Go well into the rest of your week

  • So i'm definitely gonna try this. Just wanna clarify, the smaller section of sheet, did you use it as an extra layer for the inside top half so it's not so see through? I got lost at that part....

  • @DontCallMePam Yip that's absolutely right :-) I'm pleased you're going to give it a crack!

  • Would a twin sheet work?

  • @WagnerAbercrombie Yea I would imagine so, but you might have to cut some excess off :-)

  • What size sheet did u use!? Queen?

  • @dddyslilgrl53 No it was just a single, but if you wanted to you could use a Queen and cut as much as you needed to off :-)

  • can you do another one but this time go alittle slower and make sure to be really clear on the direction because im kind of slow and i dont really understand it.

  • Great Idea! I love it~

  • Love this, gonna buy a vintage sheet n a sewing machine ASAP :) !

  • Loved it so much...it was added to my faves. :D

  • @LetiLaFlaca Aw...thanks heaps! I hope it works out for you :-)

  • Looooove it!!!

  • Fantastic! Viewed from Tennessee, United States. Are you from New Zeland?

  • @beckythebarber I am indeed a Kiwi :-) what gave it away? lol

  • Beautiful dress. I'm making this ASAP!!! Thanks :-)

  • Too cute

  • Sneaky indeed with the belt, but genius! I got a new dress design and styling tip to try out now! Thank you for sharing!

  • what do you do for sheets afterwards lol love the dress i tried it and failed :(

  • thank you for saving me lots of money

    god bless

  • @golbahar123 No worries :-) Grace and Peace

  • @amynotsomuch what is that song called in the at 0:02?

  • @grandberrytexas It's 'Big Spender' by Shirley Bassey :-)

  • Hi, I love this... I am a big girl and just found out I am pregnant, I don't have alot of money but I have found myself liking dresses more now than anything. lol. they are easy and comfy. Would this be easy for someone that is a big girl and pregnant too? How would I start too?

    thanks!

  • @chellypoopoo Hey chick! Firstly congratulations on being pregnant! How exciting. Secondly it should fit you still, but if you're in doubt just put two sheets together and that will give you heaps of room :-) It's a pretty easy dress to make so you shouldn't have too much difficulty, but you'll definitely need a sewing machine to make it. To start it just follow the instructions on the video and if you have any problems along the way let me know and I'll try and talk you through it :-)

  • Nice!

  • Hi

Sweetie did you use the presser foot for the gathering ...?

  • @habebahful No babe, just a normal foot but on gather stitch :-)

  • I love this :) I have made two so far and my friends keep asking me to make one for them

  • @annabellelautner1998 That's awesome! I'm pleased it's working out of you :-)

  • im confused:S i LOVE the dress and i want to try it but how did you get two pieces of material from that one yo cut?! :S

  • @tanzeeela Hey :-)

If you go back and have a look at 1:39 minutes onward I explain it but basically 1) fold the sheet lengthwise; 2) take the length measurement of your body and measure down the folded sheet 3) Cut a straight line across your sheet at that measurement. This will give you two bits of fabric - one for the outside, one for the lining. I hope that helps. If you're still not sure let me know.

Go well with the rest of your week :-)

  • You are so creative! I cant wait to make this! I always have difficulty finding dresses that are long enough for me! Thank You!

  • @JourneytoMotherhood I hope it goes well for you :) I can't remember if I mention it in the video but you can also dye, bleach, spray-paint etc the sheet to create different effects.

Go well into the rest of your week.

  • @amynotsomuch I think you did mention that...i guess the first thing I have to do is Get a sewing machine. LOL! I have all summer off work to practice my sewing skills.

  • @JourneytoMotherhood Mmmm, yea a sewing machine would probably help lol. Sewing a dress by hand isn't my idea of a good summer ah :-)

  • Love this dress! What size sheet did you use? Also, what are you cutting in the armholes?

  • @julieschroeder42 Pleased you like it :) it's a single bed sheet and I've cut the armholes down and in by about 10cm (curving it of cause).

Hope this helps and if you've got any more questions please just let me know

  • Love love love love love this I must try this NOW This reminds me of the REAL maxi dress my maxi doll had it was convertible length wise too I love this thanks for sharing!!!!

  • @misspotential lol, pleased to hear you like it! If you do end up making the dress it would be awesome to hear how you get on (if you remember that is lol) :-) Go well with your week and your sewing project.

  • nice nice!!! i really like this idea ^o^ thanks dear :)

  • @skyofmylife Aw, thanks Sweet! I hope it goes well for you :-)

  • i love it

  • @tonislady1 Hey thanks heaps! Have an awesome Easter :-D

  • Awesome idea. Where did you find that sheet? It's lovely.

  • @ellabooray The sheet just came from a recycling centre for $1, so pretty cheep dress ah!

    Pleased you liked it :-)

  • You look beautiful and i see you have a tattoo. I might try this but i'll have to shave my legs first.

  • @spilsbury1947 You don't necessarily need to shave your legs first....why do you think I made the dress so long! lol. My tattoo is a butterfly. Butterfly's MUST go through the struggle of breaking free from their cocoon in order to strengthen their wings enough to fly.

As always thank you for your encouraging words :-) and go well into the rest of your week.
