This strategy to divide the game does give them the chance to make three times more money but it wastes like two times it. I don't mind at all this as long as they make one huge game that takes a long time to be surpassed in both length and quality by other future RTS's. When we play and finish the first one, we'll know if the rest is worth buying. If not, we'll stay with the multiplayer only. It might be expensive but it can also become the ultimate RTS experience so far. Think about it.

yes but Wow is an MMO theres big diffrence bettwen MMOs and RTS.

In MMOs expansions are actully adding content. (usually huge content with lots of hours of GP following)

In RTS an Expansion is the addition of a new race of a huge unit or race Overhaul or a new race,

Blizzard is doing correclty with the first and just despertly money milking fans with the ladder. As is a huge chance that each ''expansion'' will add nothing to the races other then the campaings. Word limit..

Blizzard has been "splitting the games and charging money for it" from the very beginning. Starcraft and Brood War could have just been one game. Same for Diablo and its expansions. Same for Warcraft and its expansions. I could go on for every RTS game in existence.

Expansions BY THEIR VERY NATURE are splitting the game up and charging extra for it. We gamers tolerate it because we love getting more content, even if it means a little more money. If was fine before, why is it not fine now?
