I'm guessing this is one of the roads they're allowing to deteriorate over time w/o the added expense of actually removing. Many of the roads we traveled on (all of the passable ones over 230,000 acres), we were the first to use in years -- including hunters, firewood cutters, and dirt bikers. Dozens were closed by fallen trees. Erosion didn't seem to be a particular problem anywhere. Regular animal use was evident on most.
