There is one question i have always had about this. Can this be laid out like a ground control pro and a gcx audio switcher (but with all the effects internal of course)? For example if i was on preset 28 and change to preset 31, will the other preset buttons (1,2,3,4,5) also change or do they always stay the same no matter what preset im on? Please answer!!

Semi distorted or clean amps that are sensitive to input signal (break up) are a total other ballgame to model.

what is the better choice for a bedroom rig replacement(+home recording interface)and a setup with a tube poweramp(4cable method)and cabinet for rehearsals and gigs?rp1000 or pod hd400(they are about the same price)?I hear that pod has better amp sims and more tweaking possibilities,but digi has better FX and stompbox sims+it has additinal loop,so that you wouldn't loose the possibility of using loop for some pedal while 4cable method?and digi comes with cubase bunde,while pod does not afaik?

say, the best amp modeler in the market right now is the Axe-FX

now... after that, you can bet your on money on the RP1000. It's got the sickest modelling, wayy better and more real sounding than a Boss GT10. I can guarantee you won't regret your purchase :)

@jscabrera2 in here it doesn't sound as good as it can... if you have an amp with an effects loop you can put the RP1000 through that and you get an even better sounding amp sounds... i promise you, i was skeptical as well till the guy at guitar center showed me how to do that now it's the only thing i use, live and for recording

I love the design and the sounds this thing produces, but am really looking for it to be a modeller and multi-effects (rather than using my rather basic amp's sound) can you plug it into the front of the amp and simply use it to give you sounds you DON'T have (such as the Mesa "Recto" grunt) Also, can you model a Malmsteen-esque 70s Marshall driven by a DOD OD pedal type thing? As that's a sound I've not heard done yet. Thanks

i have a Peavey Vypyr also and I want to get the RP1000 but i'm confused, can i leave my amp on bypass and then still work the pedalboard or will it only work if i change the amp effect? Like if i used my tube screamer effect on my amp would the RP1000 still work on top of it? I want the RP1000 so i don't have to use just my amp effects so can it just run the effcts already programmed into it through my amp?

Is their anyway to only get the sounds from the rp 1000 to come out of your amp. i have a peavy vypyr amp and even on preset mode i can still hear the sound of my amp it only alters it. i want to get the exact sound the rp 1000 is making not my amp. thats why i bought the multi effects pedal in the first place. to get all the 100 customizable presets and everything else of course but its no fun to use if it barely changes the sound at all. please help me

@sunburst909 First make sure the Amp/Cab bypass is off! That will allow the modeling to come through. If your amp does not have an effects loop, there is no way to bypass the preamp of your amp so you are stuck with your own amp. You might want to find a clean model on your Peavey to start with and then use the presets on the RP000. Good luck!

@sunburst909 i have a friend who studied electronics in the navy...he's always putting old crap back together........you might be surprised what a stereo receiver and a couple of speakers can do for you instead of a guitar amp....because it's like.....the rp series basically replaces the need for tone and eq from an amp...just need something to make it loud! maybe that will help...have fun with it anyway, i know trying to get your sound right is frustrating...

It does make sense to run this through a PLexi....NO AMP/PREAMP is capable of everything. If you limit to just your amp tone, you have no versatile tone pallette. The best Tube amps usually do not have Delay, Chorus, Compression, Flanger, etc bulit into it. This processor even goes to length to allow you to use just stompboxes to tweak your amp's tone without the coloration you speak of....This is as versatlie as it gets!

digitech dont have the most organic sounding tones. i would know i have 2 different RPs id go with GT-10 or Pod Xt if u can afford it. GT-10 is worth every penny if u can get it though its a whole lotta fun and just gr8.

I believe that the Digitech is much more "organic" than the gt10. I've always been a fan of Boss products, but their new stuff just sounds way too digital to me.

@WickedSickMetal I think this video makes the digitech sound organic because the amp head is an amazing vintage marshall tube amp. i've played other digitech multifx through solid state and it's pretty digital. i think boss stomp boxes and the old gt8 are better than digitech, and definitely more durable. not sure about the newer stuff. I've learnt that the key to great sound is to buy a great tube amp, and a quality guitar even if you have no money for pedals for a few years...

The xedit interface for the digitech units is hard to beat imo padawan007. It is so simple to pull up and tweak your settings. Does the g major allow you to record direct w/usb? Does it have a virtual display to tweak your settings? If it doesn't, i would say hands down the digitech. Great little units man.
