@Sar2009fu Newey looks old and ragged now and Haug looks like a nazi crime suspect. Just saying.
Is Haug in the same capacity as Newey or is he just the technical director like Ross Brawn? Mike Gascoyne seems to go from team to team a lot; is he employable? Is his talent dispensible or is he just going where the money is?
I think Newey and his Redbull designs are the contemporary revolution like Collin Chapin was in his era.
@supercooled speaking of "piggyback", rumour has it that David Coul"tard" did some piggybacking with Cheques Villenueve and Rolpff Schumacher.....but even more disturbing was Mika Hankynen volunteered as the "centre" of the Human Centipede and had what can only be described as some fucked up Brokeback Mountain moment.

Montoya got fired for doing that to Räikkönen at Indy GP 2006. Mika blown up to the team radio and was more pissed off than ever during his F1 career and demanded instant dismiss to the Scotsman.
Coulthard did it twice indeed! He was in a bad relationship with Mika Hakkinen and McLaren! He was underrated by the team cuz he always was behind Mika Hakkinen in McLaren options!Really sad!
yeh david was rather calamity at times, suzuka 1999 he spun off on the run up to spoon curve where nobody ever spins off and handed ferrari the constructors title
Yeah that was deliberately! He was never put in a position to fight for the World Championship! His only chance to win the title was in 2001 when he was overpowered by Schumacher in the second half of the Championship(look at the statistics and you'll see that I'm right)
They are actually really good friends, and hakkinen was very pleased for coulthard whenever he won a race and im sure the same can be said vice versa.
The problem was that hakkinen in fact was a better driver, in 2000 coulthard had a chance to be involved in the title hunt but faded midseason when hakkinen reeled in schumacher.
There was no faviroutism in my opinion, at the beginning of 98, coulthard had just as good a chance as mika
Hakkinen had been really mad for David cos that. McLaren even fired him.
Coulthard had never that one thing for championship. Allways wrong time at wrong team. Im glad that he retires, he has accomplished almost everything possible except WC:
@skailaini Fair point, but I wouldn't know how to type "ä" as it isn't on my keyboard, and I wouldn't know what combination of buttons to press to get it up, so it is just much easier for us to type it as Hakkinen.
thats right, wouldnt have been so bad if coulthard won, if i remember right ferrari had another one of their genious pit strategies and that got irvine in front!
Being David.
CaboArmorKing 2 weeks ago
Häkkinen still got on the podium (3rd) though. ;) Without Davids brain lapse he probably would have won the race.

to coldpalywave - HI ! humm...so it was.
Anyhow a bad drivers' management by Dennis...watching from the outside.
I still wonder why he didn't fire Coulthard.
Btw I heard of Mika and David still being
in touch at Montecarlo after retirement
and after Mika's divorce. Who knows how
things really were going on .....
Greetings.

shanejl11 2 years ago 2
@shanejl11 True, but it can't of helped David's confidence at Jerez '97, being asked to move over and let Mika win.
DC's best chance was '99. That slippery moment at the Nurburgring ended it all.

should they search it and copy it for every time they write Häkkinnen or Räikönnen?
