What settings are you playing that Arcade game on? Is it an actual cabinet or MAME? The reason I ask is because the conveyor board on my arcade cabinet spits out way more fireballs the first time I see that board than yours did.
Man, I like the nes version because the sounds and graphics are very close but I AM SO bummed out about a missing stage 2. It does give that DK fix, maybe one day i'll have my own DK cab.
Anyone want to play the best version of this game play the amstrad cpc version the only version that is completly arcade perfect it is flawless all the stages and the same ending as well ocean software did amazing job on it.
The nes version is fun because it's a tad easier than the arcade. For one thing those springboards on stage 3 of level 4 aren't nearly as hard to go underneath.
Thanks for producing a high quality video that clearly shows the difference between the two versions. I find it hard to convince someone that the Nintendo (console version) is inferior to the arcade without visuals. Now, I only have to direct the person to this video.
By the way, you're an excellent video game player!
it's a shame they couldn't have done a remake for the nes latter of donkey kong like they did with mario bros which was more faithful to porting the arcade game. It's an even bigger shame they chose the crappy version of mario bros to port for the gba nes classics series
Well, the NES one was a better sound quality, but less animation. Arcade is the opposite. NES haven't got stage 2, but rest is easier than Arcade. I'd say... NES.
WTF how could nes not have the pie factory level because it doesnt have enough MEMORY? I mean odnkey kong doesnt take up that much room ITS 3 levels! OMG who has ever heard of a game thats just 3 levels long!? only saving grace is it DONKEY KONG I LOVE THIS GAME! but boo nes for no pie level.......I got to find me an arcade cabinit.
You have to understand that Donkey Kong is probably the very first game they ever made for the NES, and they had to fit the entire program code into 8 KB because anything more than that would have been too expensive. Cheaper cartridges with more memory didn't come along until later.
The grinding noise that DK makes in the beginning of the game and/or when you beat an arcade level gives me the sexiest video game chills. Same with the original arcade SFX for when Mario jumps over the barrels. I'm such a geek.
Nothing beats the original. The Famicom/NES version doesn't even compare to the arcade. The Famicom/NES version is only good if you can't afford the arcade cabinet. If you can afford the arcade cabinet and you have space, get the arcade game.
Arcade version is better. Well, the Japanese version, because they put the stages in order (Ramp-Conveyor Belt-Elevator-Devo Hat). After you finished all 4 stages, the difficulty increases.
I like the sound of the NES better but the Arcade version is bigger :)

@TheBazman111 You should try the port for Uzebox. You can download an emulator for uzebox and download the game (or games) at belogic dot com/uzebox/

ドンキーコング、パックマンのサウンドはヤンキーの雰囲気が漂う。

アーケードのほうが重低音ですねw ファミコンには低音出せる音域が
なかったのか
個人的には2面が一番好きなので、ファミコン版はつまらなかった

In Nintendo 64 bits in the game Donkey Kong 64 you can go to a arcade place where you can play the full version.
It's really hard, especially the last level. It took me a while before I saved princess Peach :)

NES:
No blue barrels
The pie factory level is missing due to memory
You play the later stage before the final stage
It's a bit easy than the arcade version
slightly changed colours
No intro sequence

Agreed - that nothing beats the original arcade. Nothing. This Falcon/NES version is downright nasty to say the least.
