DUDE. ramones guitar rlly is the easiest in more than 10 ways, but i gota hand it to u, ur style is flawless, u sound just like if johnny was playing, sound wise as well. dope
The only thing that I use is the compressor (sustain 2 level 5) and sometimes the chorus & delay. For Ramones the overdrive comes from the amp. If I play my own stuff I might experiment with different overdrive settings and wah pedal also.
Yeah, indeed Johnny Ramone overdrive came from his Marshall, I believe that he didn't use any pedal (at least in the live shows), exploiting only the power of the amp. I noted from your sound that there is compression and I really like it, I hope to buy a pedal like your Boss in the future.
Your settings are very different from mine. If I try those on my JMP and 4x12 it shoulds like pure shit. The sound has no body. Just treble screaming like in some heavy metal and bass giving it a little background. I use Middle 9, Treble 4, Bass 8 Volume: 10. No gain since theres no master volume either. Gotta play loud and hard to get good sound.
And the JMPs are point-to-point not pcboard. it gives it a much warmer sound compared to the coldness of the pcb wired. JMP MK II is most likely Marshalls greatest. Master volume, JMP sound, point-to-point. JCM800 is not bad either but its not as good.
As a stage amp they are probably unbeatable, but for in your living room not really practical. Unfortunately I cannot remember which Marshall I had during my band days. I do know that it had a separate gain and master volume.
If it was in the seventies it was most likely JMP MK II since there were no other master volume heads at the time from Marshall. JCM800 is often considered the first master volume head, though this is not true. JMP MK II was the first. I have a great marshall book of bout 200 pages which goes through everything of marshall. Gotta love books. too bad we sold the MK II we had here.
congrats dude! for all your videos

Yeah, the pre-amp gain makes all the difference.

zeg woody zijn dit ook echt jou zelf gemaakte nummers
dead500dead 2 years ago

Saludos woody!
Di3g082 2 years ago
ele usa uma pedaleira boss me-50 e usa o canal dirty do seu marshall
ChineseR0ck 2 years ago
Eso es:)
Tambien gain4, bass 7, contour 5, treble 9. Uso el Boss ME50 solo por el function 'compression'.
