  • Not bad.. sink more esp at the end of a move and try not to bob up at the transitions between moves. Youre on the right track.. dont forget to enjoy it when it gets hard and hurts ;-)

  • you got the idea, keep practicing and reseraching. you will even get better.

  • IS your style from Cheng Men Ching? I learned only the first third of the short from which looks like this, but then took a class on the long form which also looks like this. NOw I see on other youtube profiles, there are other Yang style long forms. How many Yang style long forms are there?

  • This is Yang Style, long form. Cheng Man Ching's form is a simplification, were most of the repetitions were removed. There are few versions of the long form, but most are based on the standarization done by Yang Chen Fu. This is the form as practiced by Yang Zhen Ji, second soon of Yang Chen Fu.

  • not bad, you are missing some of the key principles in youre mechanics, but is better than most

  • Thanks. Would you be more specific?

  • The main thing I see is you come up between your movements. Maybe that's how it's done in your style. My teacher asks us to stay always at the same hight when moving, but except for a few movements, there should be no bouncing up and down of your body.

  • Thanks for the comment. This is related to the way we do the footwork. When walking, if you ground the toes of the front leg before shifting the weight, you will have a slight movement upright, which creates a vector going up, helping to un-root your opponent. Anyway, I'll ask my teacher if I am overdoing something (it's better always to be open for corrections). I understand that people shouldn't bounce while moving the leg forward. Thanks again.

  • I think I admire your graceful handling of criticism more than your tai chi. ;)

  • Thank you, I just try to do tai chi, even when handling criticism ;)
