tuning the traxxas tmaxx 2.5r is a pain in the ass. it burns thru glowplugs like no tomorrow after countlessly resetting the needles tp factory specs, when temps change. Take today for example I wenr thru 2 plugs in the snow, 40 or higher and it runs like a raped ape till it engages 2nd gear on highspeed passes then burns a plug.

hey, i'm scared to death of runing my engine, i know everything i should do, i've watched like an hour of how to videos, asked tons of quations, and read quiate a few articles, but i just dont have the guts to go and tune it :-s what are the chances of ruining the engine while tuning? nothing like competing or doing anything too hard, just going around a packed dirt soccer field triygn to tune it...

i already know its way too rich, i just have to lean it out...

even if the tuning is really messed up, it shouldn't have any bad effects on the engine, my motor is impossible to tune and ive been driving it out of tune for almost a year and it still runs. If the tuning is too bad then the motor probably wont even start,(i dont know if this helps any but it is my opinion)

hey i dont understand why sould i ajust the low-spees needle when its high idle!?? i sould ajust the idle screw not the low speed?

the LSN also controls the low speed, wich is 0% throttle to 50%...

what do you tune remote, carby ???? both.

try to lean it a litle bit. if it doesnt help turn back to the original posistion so you dont wrongly adjust the engine.

I need some help! I've been trying to start my nitro rc and it wouldnt start so ive gone to my manual and done everything on what the default tuning settings are for the car. The car finally started but then it was throwing loads of crap out of the exaust as if it wasnt burning the fuel at all, just going straight through the engine and back out. My car sounded terrible aswell and trying to get my car to idle is a nightmare, I have to keep the revs up to stop it cutting out!

sounds like your piston and sleeve need changed in your engine.

even if it is new there are times which i just had were the piston and sleeve are bad from the start.

Im gonna tune it today using ur method, I hope it works, If not then I am going to buy a new car because I currently have a Thunder Tiger Phoenix GT and want to move onto a Thunder Tiger ST-1. Even if the engine is screwed then its time to buy a new car.

i got a traxxas jato and it doesnt want to stop. it will run well as long as its moving. however, once it stops or if i even use the breaks. its dies. Anyone know wat might be wrong? Thanks

from what i hear you should check the low speed first as it can have a big effect on the high end if it is lean, even if you think the high end is rich and it is running lean, then its the low end or (unlikely) a air leak.

its much easyer to go to the local rc shop and have them do it, i always run my first 3 tanks as insrtuctions say then i run another 7 tanks. I go to the rc shop pay 8 pound english money they tune it all for me and walaa it runs like a dream all done in a couple hours
