  • I just heard a "reporter" on Fox News report that when Obama criticized the 1999 bill that deregulated the financial industry, he forgot to mention that one of his top supporters, Jim Leach, was the principal author. Somehow, I think they got this a little backwards... I don't think they let any Obama supporters speak at the GOP Convention...

  • You heard that on Fox News? That's like saying, "I read in the Weekly World News once..." The fact that you reference Fox news just destroys the value of an opinion that you have. Fox News? Isn't that the network that said Palin had foreign experience because Alaska is so close to Russia? haha What a pathetic excuse for "news" and "reporting". I can't believe you'd ever reference anything from that low rent pathetic express of a news network.

  • @ ckad79 -- You are a pathological liar. Show me the proof that your so-called Fox quote was ever uttered. You don't even believe it yourself, since you formed it as a question! Moreover, are you really naive to believe that CNN, CBS, NBC are any more slanted in their news coverage.

If those 'impartial' networks had demonstrated a modicum of fairness during the Reagan years of the 80s, FOX wouldn't exist.

  • To hell with bipartisanship. Bipartisanship=we get raped by BOTH parties. What we need is NON-PARTISANSHIP, where we REJECT BOTH major parties with the same fervor.

  • Yay, bipartisanship!

  • WAY TO GO LEACH, LEACH FOR PRESIDENT.

  • The republican party is a shadow of what is once was. It's now run by nutcases and spinmeisters who are out for their own good, not their country's. Old guard republicans like this one can't stand it anymore and are voting for a new direction.

  • The leader will provide. Obama/Biden '08!

  • The leader is good. The leader is great. We surrender our will as of this date! Hope, change, future '08!

  • Are people disrespectful of speakers at the DNC. WTH?

  • It's a sign of just how much the Neocons have

jumped the shark, that even this old GOPer is pushing back.

The only mystery is why have so few

    other GOPers come clean?

The only thing to conclude is that most of the GOP LIKES Neoconservatism.

The NEOCON-GOP is the biggest obstacle to America's survival right now.

  • Great speech. If more Republicans thought like Jim Leach, I would have no problem being a Republican.

  • Not sure I would go as far as that, but I agree with the speech!

  • He included "the Harlem renaissance" in his speech and divided American political history into four main areas. Not your typical convention speech but I enjoyed it! Good job. "Little is riskier to national politics than more of the same." Amen, Iwoa!

  • Sounds like a ron paul republican as opposed to a neo-con

  • Absolutely Brilliant!

  • How is he a traitor?? He just realized in what *hole* our country is and that our only hope is Barack Obama!!

    Obama 2008!!

  • Great speech. Country before party!

  • exactly, chxngao

  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, signed by Clinton in 1999, was the cause of financial crisis according to Obama, Krugman and other socialists. Why did they let Jim Leach be part of Obama´s campaign?

  • @xaviqaz The Gramm Leach Bliley Act was not signed by Clinton. It became law because it had the support of more than two thirds of both houses of Congress. But Jim Leach is on record saying that the law was a disaster.

  • @kmel5150 Write "clinton gramm leach" in google and look at the first images: Bill Clinton signs into law and the Senate voting 90-8.

  • @xaviqaz I'll stand corrected. Clinton DID however veto several versions of this bill before the law that was passed in 1999, which would have become law anyway.

  • YAWN.

  • TRAITOR!!!!

(unless he's a new england republican, and really a democrat anyways so it doesnt matter).

  • Dayum, it was all good when Zell Miller spoke at the RNC right? It is all good that Joe Lieberman is doing the same thing? LOL

  • Traitor? It should always be country before party. The real traitors are those stuck on stupid & willing to push for continuing the current decline in this country because of ego or allegiance to a party who puts your best interests last.

there are more like him, thankfully.

  • He is only a traitor to blind, stubborn idealists.

  • exactly!

    *high five*
