The most frustrating thing was when he was siphoning the coolant with the turkey baster and holding it sideways to let air in and spill coolant all over.
how do you wash your engine?? is really clean and black stuff really black what product u use?? love your videos,, i just gotta miata 96 needs lot of work still you´ve help me a lot with tutorials, next step is gonna be putting my hands on :)
Why not just buy the "peak" flush kit at auto zone. Flush out the system really good with hose water. Drain everything and used distilled water W/ Water wetter.
Oh and don't use tap water. The water in North America might not have as many mineral deposits as water in Europe or elsewhere, but it's still filled with things you don't want in your cooling system. Use distilled water and your Miata will love you for it.
Water Wetter is great for lowering cooling system temperatures, but if your cooling system is heating up PAST normal operating temps there is something wrong. Most likely your thermostat is stuck, but it could also be a water pump failure if it went from normal operating temps to near overheat in a span of 7 minutes in idle. Using something like Water Wetter to lower temps like this is just using a band aid. It doesn't solve anything.
Love your videos, but please don't mislead anyone with this
I have a question. a lot of race cars take AC's out of the car. what is wrong with repositioning them to connect with the intake to provide superior cold air. cold air means denser air means more gas and more power. is there anything wrong with this thought?
Your car shouldn't overheat just idling in your drive way. Something is definitly wrong in your system. Maybe a thermostat problem. Also filling the overflow tank back with water from the hose isn't the best either. Distilled water is best to use to prevent corrosion. Products like Water Wetter have been around for a long time. Basically like add small amounts of soap to your cooling system.
heater make sense to remove engine heat. sort of like an extra radiator in there but smaller really small. but the small block chevy revin at 7200 rmp's is bs.
Here's a novel idea nimrod - why not FIX your overheating problem the PROPER way - rather than adding snake oil to your open and bleeding wounds! A miata, or any car should not be overheating PERIOD. If it does, that means the system has a problem - that does NOT mean the system needs snake oil added to cool it down!
engine not suppose to overheat in the first place. Even idling. The radiator fan should kick in to maintain proper temperature. If you had removed the coolant from radiator, then you could have added the water wetter directly into the system.
If your radiator was not full, that would have been a simple cause of overheating in the first place. its just not possible for this type of system to draw the coolant from overflow tank back in.
there is a guy in the miata club that swears by this stuff, I have been thinking about it, I had a overheating issue it was the radiator, I replaced it with a two core with only water in it and the needle is halfway between cold and the middle of the gauge,
