Saw this a couple of months at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter, then saw it this afternoon at the Brewhouse in Taunton. Both productions, I thought, were immense! Special effects and acting were brilliant. =D Five Stars Pilot Theatre!
Out of interest, have you seen the play? I'm not saying this in a horrible way, but if you were to see it, it might change your mind =] I dont know, but I thought that it worked well. You're entitled to your opinion of course =D I don't think that the acting would have been as good if they'd been young actors.
I did not see the play but only clips of it on youtube. I can't come to any conclusions but from what I saw on the clip I think it was not done well. If I had the money, a theature and a company I would do it very different. It probably would been much more conversal but I think when the book was written it is excally what the writer wanted. I love both the movies that came out but the 1963 one was much better.
Completely agree with you about the 1963 film, it was so much better. Personally, I liked this production. I didn't love it, I thought that it was O-K. I think that perhaps using younger actors was not an option for the Pilot Theatre Company, and they just wanted to try the play. Considering that they're adults, they pretended to be kids well, I think =] It's nice to actually have a proper conversation with someone with different views without people going 'omg, ur so gayyy!!!' XD
You should see the whole show before you pass judgement. I saw it yesterday in Leicester, it's ridiculously good. They're all superb and you forget that it's adults playing kids. Plus, they don't like taking young kids on tour. Honestly, I don't think that it was spoilt at all by the fact that they're adults.
I watched this on wednesday in Winchester and it was amazing! i loved the bit where Ralph and Piggy were doing hand stands. Ralph, Piggy and Jack were amazing actors, and when Ralph riped of his shirt evreyone went "phwaarr". <3
This was amazing. I saw it last night and it was oneof the best shows I've ever seen it was truely incredable. My heart was pounding the whole time I was that terrified and captivated by it! Well done to everyone involved in the play and I hope they win some well deserved awards for this tour

I loved the way that you used extracts from the book embedded in the play. We stole/used that idea for our drama GCSE XD

The show would be much cooler if the used children instead of men like the orginal Lord of Flies MMovie did.
