I've been laid off 3 times in my life, and I'm only 30, but I keep picking myself back up, and working my ass off. I have a wonderful wife (who's pregnant), a nice house, 6 cars, and a great job with the NFL. You just have to work hard and not give up. THAT is the American Dream... THAT is why people flock to our country. Obama is NOT right... he does NOT understand.
Ok, well... I was unemployed for 3 full months one of the times, racked up a ton of credit card debt which I eventually paid off. I was also without health insurance and had medical expenses, which I had to pay out of pocket. But... why should YOU, or any other tax-payer have to pay for it? That's part of life, that's part of growing, learning, being an adult, and learning to make the right decisions. That's saving money when you have it, rather than spending it frivilously.
Also, it's a known statistic that the vast majority of people who are out of work suffer from A) a psychiatric problem, B) a chemical addicition, or C) laziness. If you end up on the street and lose your job, but are industrious... you'll get a job again. It does happen, and people DO pick themselves up. But if you're on the street for a year or more... chances are you're not doing anything to change anything for yourself.
And am I REALLY one of the lucky ones? What's so lucky about being laid off three times in the span of 2 years? (Computer programmer in 2000-2002). Seriously... how is that lucky? I'm now enrolled for my bachelors degree (at 30) to try to get an engineering degree. It's VERY difficult... yes... while working a weekend job, and my primary job, while maintaining all adult responsibilities and taking care of a household. I have plenty of friends that are on welfare, and plenty whose parents made over $100K a year. I know when we graduate most of us, myself included will not recieve much from our parents financially. only used if BOTH parties involved agree to be judged by sharia law, if they dont both agree, then the case goes to a British civil
court. So if a woman thinks she will be mistreated in a sharia civil court, she can refuse to be judged by one, and if she is so dominated by men or whoever then chances are she wouldn't get to go to any court, but that is another matter altogether.

I've been laid off 3 times in my life, and I'm only 30, but I keep picking myself back up, and working my ass off. I have a wonderful wife (who's pregnant), a nice house, 6 cars, and a great job with the NFL. You just have to work hard and not give up. THAT is the American Dream... Ok, well... I was unemployed for 3 full months one of the times, racked up a ton of credit card debt which I eventually paid off. I was also without health insurance and had medical expenses, which I had to pay out of pocket. But... why should YOU, or any other tax-payer have to pay for it? That's part of life, that's part of growing, learning, being an adult, and learning to make the right decisions. That's saving money when you have it, rather than spending it frivilously.

Also, it's a known statistic that the vast majority of people who are out of work suffer from A) a psychiatric problem, B) a chemical addicition, or C) laziness. If you end up on the street and lose your job, but are industrious... you'll get a job again. It does happen, and people DO pick themselves up. But if you're on the street for a year or more... chances are you're not doing anything to change anything for yourself.

First, I wasn't born as well off as I am now. Second I'm still not upper middle class. My parents both came from low income families, they recieved no substantial help from their parents after highschool. They both enlisted in the navy. Their pensions and training allowed my dad to go to college and get a job. Now, the middle class can range to incomes over $100K easily. $50K distributed among a family of 6 is hardly in the upper bracket of the middle class.

I have plenty of friends that are on welfare, and plenty whose parents made over $100K a year. I know when we graduate most of us, myself included will not recieve much from our parents financially. We will all leave highschool relatively eqaul in proportion to what grades we got. There are poor kids who will get scholarships and do well, and there are rich kids who may be able to go to college but lack the brains to get through it.

I remember McCain siteing the Irish economic model as an inspirational model for America. Didn't hear it brought up after the first debate however, because Ireland is collapsing as we speak. Why is it that the neoliberal economic policies have failed everywhere they've ever been exported, and have been corroding the US for years, but the supporters still can't do the math? Just like communism, it looks good on paper, but real world application of the principles doesn't work.

It isn't how much money they have that is the problem , it is the fact that they pay the same tax's as the rest of us, but go to better schools that take all the systems best teachers , they go to better hospitals and see better doctors which take all the best medical personnel too, and to top it all they are the one's making all the big decisions that affect us all.
