Too much emphasis is put on race. I didn't even think about how there were two African-American quarterbacks in this game until The Big Ten Network brought it up. I don't see the significance to be honest. I think when Martin Luther King spoke of unity, he meant that society ought to approach race with as much relevance as eye or hair color. Diversity then would be in opposition to that definition of unity, as it divides us into distinct racial groups and allocates us as the elites see fit.
It's just history.
