This game is good. It is a TRUE horror video game, it's dark, you have weak as hell guns, there are SO many times when nothing happens, you have awkward and slow movement, and, you're alone. Resident Evil 5 had none of those things, and THAT my dear fellow, is why this game has SO much more than resident evil 5. Horror isn't what it used to be, it used to be scary, with nothing much happening, and tons of jumps, movies nowadays try to scare you with a ridiculous amount of blood and gore.

I find it odd that Isaac floats away when he dies in zero G. The necromorphs should naturally float off, as when they die they lose their grip on the surface. But Isaac has magnetic boots, and I imagine they remain magnetic even if he's dead, since they seem to turn on automatically and Isaac doesn't need to flip a switch. So if he dies, his boots should still function and his flopping, lifeless corpse should remain planted firmly onto the surface he's standing on.

@IBLOWN BFBC2 isn't a sci-fi survival horror is it? Hey I love that game too but you jsut can't compare the two. Besides, it's better on consoles. (and most FPS's are better on PC's, which is why I rarely play them on console despite the fact my PC is inferior to my console).

@bfret4 dont worry dude. i just started playing dead space too and on tht part in the game the little power boxes are circuitbreakers. when u just head into the room, on the opposite side u will find a door. its locked and has a hole next 2 it. use kinesis 2 bring the circuit breaker 2 u and shove it into the hole. then the door unlocks and u can continue.

thanks for the advice, but i finished the game a while ago i realised that i could jump to the other side using zero gravity jump then i pulled one of the power nodes to where it needs to be near the doors

The idea of a game is not for you to keep shitting your pants throughout the entire gameplay but rather to recreate/simulate a reality, a reality in which you would shit your pants if a bunch of sons of bitches jump out of an air shaft and out to kill you. This is what Dead Space brings - aiming, nasty ass crawlers and panic.

Wow. That is sooo wrong.

1. Fear 2 is just Fear one, with a crappy ending.

2. Dead Space doesn't even scare. It just startles momentarily, then you get to the bad gunplay.

3. Fear 2 isn't really even creepy unlike Fear 1. You know what's going on and what to expect.

Something is more deserving of that. I mean, games like Left 4 Dead are out there, and newer than Dead Space. They feel like in an off sense they could happen, and in the unexplained confusion(unlike F2 & DS)you can get freaked out.

It expects to have a sequel that probably won't be better, but that's not saying much. And how did you feel the first time you played L4D. I was confused and scared whenever I heard the witch music the first 2 months, but the scariness in Dead Space goes away after the first enemy.

Oh, and Dead space came out in October (maybe september depending where you live) and Left 4 Dead was November. All I said was "games like Left 4 Dead are out there, and newer than Dead Space."

It's not the enemys that scare people but the enviroment, the dead bodies the blood scrawled messages, the damaged areas, they make you imagine what could be around the corner and what could have happened which will be far scaryer than anything they can possibly put in a game coz it will be your own personal nightmare not the designers
