We were neck and neck at launch, I was beside his front tire when I grabbed second, and when I grabbed third I started to pull away. I won the drag, barely by less then a bike length.
@thedayaftertommorow5 are you serious? there is a turbo busa that hit 256 mph at the maxton mile in 2008. theres no muscle car on the planet that will go that fast. hayabusas aside, if the bike in the video had a longer swingarm it could beat the charger easy.
I think all say this, if like a bike fine whatever but I'm still picking the car over the bike every single time. Unless you race drag strips with close to NHRA drag bike specs then yeah but if the car your up against has NHRA specs then you have a challenge on your hands. But for me I like see cars going 200+ down drags not bikes sorry. on a bike your more likely to lose your life a limp or be paralyzed, in a car you have more of a chance not to lose those.
let's not forget - at least it's what I think since I don't know how to ride a bike - that the car provides more stability.

That charger had just had an amateur performance set up, and the bike was stock. Sure you could beef up the bike with turbo or something and it would definitely win, however, give that Charger a professional set up, then that bike wouldn't win no matter what since the charger would make within 4 seconds or so and the bike is too light to handle so much power and torque in which the Charger can. -cough- cornering is a different story.. I still love chargers the best though! Great Video!!
Considering the bike did not appear stretched or strappe he did pretty well. I can run 10.9-10.7 on my R1 @ 138-144mph at stock height. Stretched and lowered I can get in te 9.8-10.1 range. That's at about 800ft above sea level. On my r6 at stock height about 11.5-11.8 in the mid 120mph. Hard to launch a bike at stock height.

ford came out with the BOSS 429 engine & chrysler whined so nascar banned the hemi & boss 429 . that is the long & short of it . they went to 358 cu. in max so chevy could compete . 348 , 409 & mark series bbc did not do very well as the had a problem blowing up ! not reliable !

i completely disagree. They made some chargers/cudas/challengers/darts with superstock engines that would easily run in the 10s at the track that you didnt have to do anything to. They were built like that from the factory.

yeah well i been with the motorsports thing for a while and unless you know the person you're getting the bike off it's probably beat to fuck and back and won't run worth a shit. its the same thing with quads. you're better off buying a new one unless you can get one dirt cheap as a fixer uper ( no guarantees on that ) or a guy who brought it home and never rode it which is RARE
oh yeah insurance costs are crazy for a crotch rocket. my dad can't afford it at 59 and been working for 40 years
