  • Thought this a very good version but I seem to recall it being criticised at the time.

I think Brave New World is probably a more accurate version of how things will be. Rather than an obviously oppressive regime, people will be in more like an open prison, kept stupid with "entertainment" like TV game shows. A bit like now in fact.

  • Revolution 9

  • If the few say "NO". But, the many say "YES". The few will say "YES", too. Division: the only tool.

  • DEATH TO THE ETERNAL ENEMY OF OCEANIA! Eastasia, right? Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Oh no why are they are carting me off?

  • War Is Peace!

  • Orwell was inspired from the regimes in Nazi Germany and Stalinist USSR, but who could have thaught that North Korea would be so similar to Orwells book?

  • @siralucard19 The United States is and has been coming nearer to Orwell's book. Have we been a decade without war for the last century? Never let a crisis go to waste and continually devise new laws with which to restrict human liberty. That is what our gov't does, and this truth is coming from a United States Marine and Oathkeeper. We live under an oligarchy masquerading as a republic with a two party system. In reality, both parties push us into debt and gov't control.

  • Thumbs up if we are living "1984" today.

Thumbs down if you think I'm five cans short of a six pack.

  • @TheTruthteller Japan Wiped up Nanking killing as many people as the a bomb did, which also stopped an invasion of Japan which would have killed Millions more. as well as the fact japan comitted some of the worst atrocitys the world has ever seen

  • @TheTruthteller76 Japan killed 30,000,000 civilians in mainland asia through WW2. The native american aztecs obtained rule through spreading fear and violence in central america and subjugating surrounding tribes to slavery for a elite noble class. The eastern Iroquois pillaged any weak tribe to maintain power. I believe that is the commonality of human nature to commit such atrocities, and it should be societies goal to create governance which can guard against that unfortunate tendency.

  • @danr2019-- Anyone who justifies the use of Atomic weapons on innocent civilians because their same leaders created a television has to be a deranged lunatic. I think a psychiatric evaluation is very much needed by you.

  • Thanks for the upload, downloaded a torrent of this awhile ago, but the sound was so low, I could barely even make out what they were saying

  • @dgl1962-- Are you retarded? Somali or Africans are savages? Really? I think we learned in 2nd grade that the USA was the only country in the world to use the atomic bomb on innocent civilians in Japan, not once but twice., of course after they enslaved the Africans and committed genocide against the native indians. Somalis ain't got nothing on low life pieces of shit losers like your people. Get your mind right clown.

  • @TheTruthteller76 Low life pieces of shit? referring to americans? a country made up of descendants from other countries? also didn't those low life americans make your life 10x easier by developing your computer and its software as it is today(Microsoft or Mac), your modern day packet switching(internet), most websites you use? airplanes? tv?, light bulbs, (see Thomas Edison for more) & I won't take you seriously if any of your counter argument contains potty language or other rubbish.

  • @dgl1962--- You must be the new shit for brains, lol. Savages of Somailia? Last time I checked it was European americans that dropped the atomic bomb on innocent civilians in Japan not once, but twice., then enslaved the African Americans for their labor, then comiited genocide against the native american indians,. Pretty hypocritical talking about Somalis when your own people have done acts no Somali would dare do. There should be a law against idiots like u being called human

  • 9 dislikers are probably EastAsians or Eurasians.

  • @TheMoonLord98 They're Eurasians, they've always been Eurasians

  • This is like a bunch of neocons at a convention who get shown pictures of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • George Orwell was a fraud. He was an MI5 agent deputised to write up the planned coming tyranny but to throw people off the scent by saying that it would come from the right and not the liberals and the left from where it is now coming. He hid the fact that the Rothschild family (current estimated fortune 37 trillion) were to lead the NWO by making the hero of the book Jewish. We were all taken in and now we face international tyranny in a sleepwalking state.

  • @americaisbacktrump I think you are a just a marxist totalitarian anti-semitic brainwashed bitch.

  • @americaisbacktrump You're a brainwashed follower of whoever the fuck decided to claim the Jews were causing the black plague 600 years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @americaisbacktrump The NWO does not exist. And no he was not an agent you must first prove and do not use conspearicy theories.

In what since is tyranee coming from the progressive left ? It is not the left who wants to take away peoples rights to be gay rights to belive what ever she belives and etc. I see you are a dumb anti-semitic conspearicy theorist.

  • How can anyone watch this crap?

  • "This is no longer war, this cold blooded murder." Now there's double-speak for you. This primative psychological mind-control crap will not work on society much longer because we are all undergoing a consciousness shift where all people will know the thoughts of oneanother. Those communist bastards will be known by all and hated by all and eliminated by all. Wherever they try to hide they will be found. This Orwellian nightmare will be their nightmare, not ours.

  • @scottandildi Orwell himself was a socialist. Its just as much about extreme capitalism as it is about stalinism.

  • @scottandildi Orwell was a democratic socialist

  • @scottandildi Good point.

  • listen to the proles argue; little hope for change..A positron is a basic particle similar to an electron with a charge of +1 instead of –1. A Proton is a heavy particle that exists in the nucleus of atoms, and very rarely outside of it.

  • @searby1 at wheat time mark do the proles argue ... (positron, etc.)??

  • @jrnyjrny you are the prole jrn you are; not even in the outer party. It does not matter if it is not real. For you do not Matter..Not one little quark. Every though your fingers outnumber your eyes, look before you type..Help the department of commonsense out; would you. or would you?.

  • So is the Government in this movie International Jewry, Bolsheviks or Nazis?

  • @AnonNewsman There are all the same; just different chapters of the the real book. Confusing footnotes are hard to understand.

  • @AnonNewsman None of them. This is a Party, which is far more vicious than any of them. This is a world where even thinking the slightest thing against the state is death itself. This is a world where the Party can change what you see. Their command is "thou art".

  • @AnonNewsman Ambiguous. But in reality, I believe it is the Zionists that are in control. We must stop them, or we fall.

  • @dragoons9009 Yes, I agree. Zionism and their degenerate culture must be eradicated.

  • Big brother AKA Goverment

  • I didn't know Chancellor Sutler was once part of the resistance...?

  • Well whats happening now is beyond Orwell. This is a Stazi -type attack by TSA and other entities on the liberties of the American people. Stand up...FIGHT or lose your rights and your freedom.

  • RUDYARD KIPLING IS WATCHING YOU.

  • @GlobalLyricalIll I disagree. You can oppress without instilling fear. As long as you impose an immutable, undesirable force on someone, you are oppressing them -- they don't necessarily have to be afraid of you.

  • i know this is kinda serious, but i kept think lonely island's song 'i just had sex' lol

  • Is this really part 1? 'cuz it looked like I started in the middle of the movie instead of seeing the 2 Minutes of Hates for the intro.

  • Sorry everyone....12noon not 12a.m..

  • If anyone is interested.....

go to thistv.com, they have been showing it a couple of times already (albeit with commercials but it's 2.5 hrs. long). The next showing is supposed to be on sept. 1st at midnight.

  • @churde , in reply to your question, this 1984 version censored nudity and extreme physocological torture

  • War is not met to be won...but it acts as a glue, to keep the society entact. Hmmm.

  • does anyon know what the soundtrack to the trailer is?

  • Is it the whole movie or just clips? Where can I find the entire movie? Not the 50s version. I found one in Italian, but as I'm visually impaired and I don't speak Italian, that won't work because I have to go by the audio.

  • @bluegrassbaby86 this is just clips, Ive been looking for the whole 1984 for ages and can only find the 50's version and the italian one

does anyone have a link to the modern version in english

  • @bluegrassbaby86

If you go to thistv.com the next showing is on sept. 1st at midnight. It will have commercials but it is 2.5 hrs.long.

I have recorded it already and enjoyed it very much.

  • Is this the version that was made in 1984 or the 1956 version?

  • @bluegrassbaby86 Well, John Hurt certainly isn't /that/ old. :P

  • 1984 is Today

  • You obviously chopped some scenes out, right? That doesn't look like the actual intro and there are some nude scenes as well.

  • Strange...as I child I was taught that the "Communists were coming...and that they would destroy 2 things (1) the family and (2) organized religion. As an adult, I think our brand of democracy has done both quite efficiently. Is the pinnacle of contibuting to this existence to be a pimp or some kind of media mogul? There has to be a way to really change all this.

  • is thios from the start?

  • @BlackRose2354, I hate communism because my own family left Cuba because of it, but let me tell you that the reason it came about was a corrupted government that would actually steal from the small business owners. Little do you know, that Obama isn't quite communist, and learn the difference between social democrats and commies my friend. He is like every other politician. Quiet getting mad because he wanted to do Obamacare. Fun how Bush did Patriot Act aka Big Brother.

  • And I hate communism, but the fear of it, leads you to the opposit form of government.. totalitarian and oligarchy where the ones that control everything are corporations... same as communism, everyone has their own agenda. to force and enslave you to them.

  • i hope this was sarcasm...

  • THANK GOD OUR WORLD IS NOTHING LIKE THIS,, WE ARE LIVING IN SUCH PEACEFUL HARMONY, THANK TO OUR PERSIDENT OBAMA. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER MR.PSRSIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

  • @mahender6969 please tell me you are joking

  • @mahender6969 wow have you been brain washed. the obamatons and obamatrons worship the obamamessiah like a little tin 'god'. did you not see the adoring crowds upon the night of his 'coronation' and 'canonization'?

  • @SocratesTheGadfly could have been a mass test of H.A.A.R.P. ? *shrug*

  • @TrancedAnts sounds like you have been duped by the wacko conspiracy crowd. H.A.A.R.P. is a research project involving the aurora borealis located in south western Alaska and is NOT a weapon.

  • @SocratesTheGadfly While it is true people jump to alot of conclusions regarding its potential applications, HAARP most certainly has vast potential to be used as an ELF weapon, and its research applications are most certainly not limited to the Aurora Borealis. But, don't take my word for it. Investigate HAARP and ELF effects in further detail, and you will see for yourself.

  • @00RoninSamurai00 as an electrical engineer I am quite familiar with the H.A.A.R.P. project. however, the knee jerk reactions of the wackos who know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about plasma physics, electro-magnetic energy or solar radiation makes me laugh. the ability to attenuate the naturally generated plasma in the earth's atmosphere into a weapon is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!

  • @SocratesTheGadfly Well, being an electrical engineer doesn't necessarily make one familiar with the HAARP Project, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you are at least familiar with ELF and HAARP.

  • @SocratesTheGadfly That being said, you should be able to understand that the Ionospheric Research Instrument (IRI) at the HAARP facility is a large, and very powerful phase array of radio transmitters capable of utilizing ionospheric reflection to target objects on earth. Furthermore, the IRI can transmit at frequencies capable of inducing the microwave auditory effect, and just as easily, fatality in a human target. DoD Project MEDUSA proved this fact.

  • @SocratesTheGadfly Finally, Eastland's patents (and others) clearly point to the IRI's potential for use in weather modification, and a variety of military applications. You should read them. The source of the data I have drawn upon for the facts is the federal government itself, and that data is currently accessible via the internet.

Keywords: microwave auditory effect, walter reed extremely low frequency, DoD Project MEDUSA, Eastlund HAARP Patents

  • @00RoninSamurai00 that may be so, however, do you have any idea how much electrical power is needed to make some of these fantastical claims come to fruition? probably not! as an electrical engineer the amount of power needed is quite enormous to "FORCE" the attenuation of the plasma in the upper atmosphere to produce the effects as claimed in the patents. as such the cost would be enormous and that does NOT include the infrastructure required to deliver the needed power. a weapon, PREPOSTEROUS

  • This is my favorite book of all time. I have read it without pause (except for dear sleep) and although it is the best story for any political nerd who's a libertarian as myself, it has one of the worst endings I have ever read. Not worst to say a bad ending, but worst to say the most disappointing and saddest endings. More gut-wrenching that Romeo and Juliets or Brave New World. This ending suggest that everyone, even freedom preachers, has the capacity to submit to "Big Brother".

  • The scary thing is that this reminds me of the '08 Obama Campaign.

  • @sniffnthetears1 Ok, finally. I'm not the only alert one who's smart enough to figure out Obama is a socialist. I respect you for making that comparison.

  • the original theatrical version with the Eurythmics underscore is the best!

  • CHANGE! CHANGE! CHANGE! CHANGE!

  • @AManNamedCM2 DAMN RIGHT MY FRIEND, DAMN RIGHT. HERE IN ARGENTINA WE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT YOU WITH OBAMA. EVERYONE IS BECOMING A FANATIC DOG HERE, JUST LIKE IN THE U.S. - IF YOU CRITICIZE OBAMA THEY EVEN CALL YOU A RACIST... HERE (OUR PRESIDENT IS FEMALE) THEY CALL YOU A MISOGINIAN. I'M SCARED THAT TIS WAVE OF "BIG BROTHER" PRESIDENTS IS NOW BECOMING A WORLD WIDE PHENOMENON... GOOD LUCK! =)

  • @MGGoblin It starts with socialism my dear friend, and converts to communism quite rapidly (if the socialist civilization doesn't corrupt to anarchy first). And even if it corrupts to anarchy, the chaos is usually caused by the dogs who will take the next communist or fascist power next and claim to save you from the anarchy. Truth is, it's been happening since civilization began, since the Romans, so it will happen with ever civilization. Why? Cause those damn commies has to corrupt capitalism.

  • @BlackRose2354 Let me make a little correction. Marx and Engels would not have supported the soviet union. Communism and Socialism are very different to stalinist or maoist form of domination. Socialism appeared to fight for the rights of working people and the savages inequalities in industrial Europe (Not U.S.) and they were very strong political ideas. Sadly little people knows (thanks to soviet bolchevic russia) what was the original purpose of these ideas. Yes, including capitalism.

  • @MGGoblin Socialism can and perhaps will happen in the U.S., I have no doubt in that. I have some issues with capitalism, but I prefer it to socialism. What works and will only work is a republic, of which democracy (which is a corrupted system and leads to anarchy) wouldn't rule and an oligarchy wouldn't reign. Capitalism can exist in a republic society, but with limitations of course. Our country, the U.S., profits from such a system, obviously. But we produced, didn't we? Unlike now.

  • @BlackRose2354

Republics are slavery. The freedom to choose your master does not make you less of a slave.

  • @AManNamedCM2 This made me laugh!!! XXXXDDD lol!!! I like you. I'm reading the comments and wow. Finally, intelligent people who see that Obama is like this. Thank you George Orwell! Thank you!

  • damn i cant find the song in the background ...anyone knows it ?

  • @andiwand111 Onceina, tis for thee

  • @Burnupmaster45 ah thx ! but i mean the song that start at 21 s ;)

  • wow, this is the most despicable portrait of humanity.. if we ever get to that point you might as well nuke the world

  • @Brettmay23 why don't you wake up and notice that it has been the way of the world for ages now, friend. Look at what is now happening in Lybia. And so many many other counties before that.

  • Day 1,984 in the Big Brother house and Winston is in pensive mood...

  • THIS tells exactly what is unfolding in this world today...the criminally insane governing the US & this planet for over a century now (mostly the globalist enemy of the people WITHIN the US Fed govt) are gonna nuke US! JUST like depicted in this window into the ever present, ever unfolding events of the military industrial complex, corporate federalist take over of America & THE PLANET are orchestrating everyday ALLLLLL around YOU! They didnt build those underground mini cities for nothing!

  • Holy enslavement! WATCH these events occurring in THE U.S. & WORLDWIDE TODAY! True history rewritten, oppressive government & THE MAN taxing & watching YOUR every move! I say YOUR's cause I dont play this game. Solar energy powering my puter & verse right now! Manual work & barter 4 what I need, MY RIDE RUNS ON HAY! NEVER a cell phone, dont eat their poisons SURROUNDED by Amish farms, FORCED to breath their toxic air, BUT I GOT 1 HELL OF A RESPIRATOR! CHOSE LIBERTY INSTEAD! COME N GET ME! haha

  • In order to rebuild, you must destroy.

  • Everything needs an opposite to exist. The party needs an enemy to exist, otherwise it will die out.

  • @chemerich Absolutely false. An opposite only needs to exist so that we observers can make comparisons. The problem is that people are so thoroughly accustomed to thinking in the way that their language forces them to that they come to believe that light (which is both an adjective and a noun and is usually thought of as the opposite of dark) cannot exist without dark. That's false, however. Unfortunately, people assume the limitations of their understandings reveal truth about the world.

  • @LoquaciousApe

    "That's false, however"

Why is it false?. Dualism is the only explanation for why there is something rather than nothing and science is based on dualism. For example, equilibrium in mechanics is based on Newton's third law that requires “for every action an equal and opposite reaction”.

  • @chemerich I'm sorry if I spoiled the fruit of your naïve epiphany, but you are incorrect. As I explained, people find it hard to think in terms other than the ones their languages accustom them to, which is why you're having trouble understanding that objects can exist without these "opposites". For a statement as bold as "science is based on dualism" I expect more than a single example as support. The third law refers specifically to interactions between opposing mechanical forces, but I can

  • @LoquaciousApe

"But should I take away these objects, the ball will still retain whatever property it possessed that prompted me to describe it as dark"

But then you wouldn't call it dark. A property is an observed characteristic that distinguishes one object from another under specific circumstances. What we see as color is the reflection of specific wavelength of light rays off an object. The ball is only dark when there is light and when it's compared to other objects.

  • @chemerich Quod erat demonstrandum. Except it seems you missed the point that I made about comparisons being ultiimately inadequate descriptions. The quality the object had when in the presence of another object, the specific wavelengths of light it reflects, remains the same in the absence of that other object. Taking away the lighter object does not alter this. This is what I meant in that statement you quoted.

  • @LoquaciousApe

"Taking away the lighter object does not alter this"

This is not true. Nothing is separated, everything is connected. Atoms, molecules, objects, planets, all interact with each other. Light itself interacts with the object of attention. We assume that it has only of minor effect on the object, but still we can't observe something without affecting it.

  • @chemerich Unless you can prove to me that on a macroscopic level separating two discrete objects would alter the intrinsic properties of both of the objects, that claim is moot. A useless metaphysical musing that does nothing but stroke the ego of a naïve kid who fancies himself to be some sort of a philosopher. You're speaking about physical interconnectedness of every object with absolute certainty as though you've proved it beyond reasonable doubt when this is yet to be evidenced.

  • @LoquaciousApe

"You're speaking about physical interconnectedness of every object with absolute certainty as though you've proved it beyond reasonable doubt when this is yet to be evidenced"

But it has been proved. For example electric, magnetic and gravitational fields extend to infinity, although they tend to zero at infinity.

  • @chemerich I can give you many examples of scientific laws and theories that don't refer to or depend on this duality. Say there's a ball on the table, one which I describe as being dark. The ball is only dark because there are lighter objects to which I can compare it. But should I take away these objects, the ball will still retain whatever property it possessed that prompted me to describe it as "dark". My description was inadequate because it only described a relationship, not the object.

  • @LoquaciousApe

"My description was inadequate because it only described a relationship, not the object"

Any observation is a relationship between the observer and the observed. In other words, you can't describe an object without having a relationship with the object. That is the basic message of quantum theory.

"The notion that science is based on dualism"

Science is based on observation and observation suggests that nature is dualistic. One effect is cancelled by the other.

  • @chemerich You're digressing. Your original point was about everything only existing if it has a diametric opposite, which is false. I've already shown that referential descriptions are often made, and you're only reiterating that. In any case, I could still describe the object as reflecting 500-510nm light, which doesn't rely on my relationship with it, though I'd be at a loss to describe its position or any other property that only arose as a relationship. And no, uncertainty qm's "moral".

  • @LoquaciousApe

"Your original point was about everything only existing if it has a diametric opposite"

My point was, that nothing exists by itself. Everything exists only in it's relation to everything else, because everything is interconnected. There are no electrons without protons and vice versa.

"I've already shown that referential descriptions are often made, and you're only reiterating that"

Of course, everything is relative. Nothing can be described without a referential.

  • @chemerich You just keep shifting goal posts, don't you? "Everything" =/= opposites. And no, you may not be able to observe a discrete object, but it still exists regardless of this. An electron still possesses the electromagnetic properties it possessed when in the presence of *positrons (you probably meant positrons, not protons...) when removed from the vicinity of the positrons.

But since you can do nothing but dance around meretriciously, I'd rather not continue with this discussion.

  • @LoquaciousApe

"And no, you may not be able to observe a discrete object, but it still exists regardless of this"

But its properties can only be defined in relation to other objects.

  • @chemerich *uncertainty isn't quantum mechanics' "moral".

  • @chemerich Not even the objects that many take to perfectly exemplify duality -- antiparticles-- are true opposites. The very fact that they both exist disqualifies them as diametric opposites, as the only true opposite to extant object would be a nonexistent one; this and the fact that they share mass, and whatever other similarities we are yet to discover.

The party's opposition is another party with an agenda, with an ideology, consisting of individuals who share these things. Not opposites.

  • @LoquaciousApe

"Not even the objects that many take to perfectly exemplify duality -- antiparticles-- are true opposites"

It depends on the properties you are comparing. Electrons and protons have equal mass but opposite charges. So from an electric point of view, they are true opposites.

"The party's opposition is another party with an agenda, with an ideology"

They are political opposites and they often only seem capable of criticizing each other. So they need each other!.

  • @chemerich They aren't political opposites, they only vary in their finer nuances. In fact, most, if not all political groups have more in common than they do not.

Once again, you dodge the exposed flaw of your argument. Also, the antiparticles of electrons are *positrons, not protons... I'm questioning continuing this conversation, seeing as how you don't even know what you're talking about. Stop being naive and realize that black and white descriptions are inadequate.

  • @LoquaciousApe

    "positrons, not protons"

Protons is another word for positrons. Look at your dictionary.

"I'm questioning continuing this conversation, seeing as how you don't even know what you're talking about"

I have a phd in electrical engineering. What do you have?.

  • @chemerich Right.... "proton" is synonymous with "positron"... Christ. You must have gotten that PhD from the same place Hovind got his. I'm done with this conversation. I suggest you start with 'Physics for Dummies' then move up to some of Stephen Hawking's bestsellers, maybe then enroll in a physics class. Goodbye.

  • @LoquaciousApe

Electrically they are the same. English is not my native language and I know that there are many differences between British English and American English. So I was a little bit confused by the word "positron". Anyway, I'm not a particle physicist. My point was, that you can only speak of duality with respect to a specific property or a specific set of properties.

  • @chemerich The notion that science is based on dualism is false and is as yet unsupported. The notion that diametric opposites exists is simplistic and naïve, and it ignores the subtle similarities between the purported opposites. The only true dichotomous relationships exist between concepts, for example the concept of nonexistence vs existence, and good vs bad.

  • is this the real part 1?? winston wons the book by the middle of the story...

  • @Giuzippper No, it's not part one. I don't know why it was posted as part one. As you said this is the middle of the story.

  • @Giuzippper No. I clicked on this too - it's like halfway through the film. Oh, well - tons of other links, I guess.

  • Gotta love how the opening speech is done in front of a big red V while using the Pink Floyd salute. Orwell was wrong though; people have chosen to love having Big Brother look at them. They love phones that track and record, computers that trace backlog and transmit all your info, cars that tell on you, etc, etc, etc. Go read Huxley Brave New World. In that one people embrace and love their controllers.

  • @Trucifer I think you need to reread the book mate, as it was only a very small amount of people who where wise enough not to love brother.

  • There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always—do not forget this, Winston—always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever.

  • @Mucky1little2me3 its almost spot on...except for being dull, the media is vibrant to make it seem like they are a source of living things but really they are wearing masks hiding the face of destruction

  • Incredible how closely the modern media reflects the Big Brother propagana

  • THE ANSWER TO 1984 IS 1776

  • @krypton2010 " " - Alex Jones

  • @krypton2010 what answer? huh?

  • @visentin4

Know much about US history? Look up that year and you'll know what it is.
