I apreciate your reply and I hope you get better. I also am sceptical. I've been tricked before. It's hard because conventional medicine is worse than MS; at least for now. So I decided to give LDN a try.
I started three weeks ago (about the time of my question). The benefits are really unnoticeable, with the exception that I no longer have a negative reaction to certain foods.
If you're interested I can let you know how it goes.
Good morning folks. Does someone have a contrarian view of Low Dose Naltrexone. I would like to know if anyone has taken LDN with no benefits. Thanks.
Hi, that LDN used to be pushed for Crohn's Disease on our message boards, but there were no real benefits. I have Crohns. Now I see there are internet rumors and shrewd promotions for it in MS, including exactly which pharmacy to order it from. So I am very sceptical, however I am not speaking from personal experience, so good luck.
It is so encouraging for you and feeling better would add to the positive benefits as your mood would be on a high! isn't it ? I wish total recovery for 2009, as I am sure this is what you are aiming
Hmmm...would I recommend Tysabri for everyone? ABSOLUTELY! I know I may not react to the medication like anyone else but I CAN NOW WALK AFTER USING CRUTCHES AND A WHEELCHAIR!!
I now walk nearly 2 miles a day when the weather is nice and, yes, I am still doing very well and am scheduled for another infusion next week!
Wow I am going to tak to my neurologist about tysabri because lkast tine he said I was not elligible in australia what form of Ms do you have ? would you recommend it for eanyone ?
Have you had your 26th infusion yet? I'm on my 10th infusion and you give me hope so when I don't see your videos, I worry about you.............and all of us that are on Tysabri! Hope your OK? Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thanks for the comment and, yes, I have had Ty 26 and the reason I haven't posted recently is because my entire computer fried (the tech said I had a power surge. Aarrgghh). Hopefully I will be back online soon!
Vern, I'm going to have Tysabri infusion #10 end of this month and I follow your progress every month. Hope you are doing well and look forward to hearing about your infusion #26. I'm having Scoliosis correction surgery in Jan. and concerned about "arranging it" around my Tysabri infusion. Which I wouldn't miss for anything.
I follow you monthly since I am 2 infusions in front of you and since you haven't posted anything I got concerned. But I see you responded to the poster below me so now I know you are ok. Glad to see that. You are an inspiration.
Looks like you're doing good with Tysabri, congratulations!
I personally have had MS for about a dozen years (I'm not bragging or anything) - now, I can walk about 50 feet without having to grab something (or falling). I'm thinking you know what that's like unfortunately.
In any case, I'm going to start with Tysabri next month and I see that you can walk a mile without aid. If you don't mind me asking, how did you start? (I assume you didnt go out and walk a mile your first day?)
I'm about to start Tysabri this Friday and found your video link when researching Tysabri to decide whether to take it or not (I've been on Avonex for about 18 months but had a relapse recently and so qualify for Tysabri) . Your videos helped me greatly in making the decision to go for it. For that I thank you. I'm delighted to see that things are going well for you, long may it continue.
I agree with ever one Norm. I agree with your comment about avonex too! Never on it but say a video and the needle is too big for me! I used Rebif which is the same but more frequent. Smaller needle too!
thanks for your videos, they are very encouraging. i am waiting for clearance to get my first infusion, i was on avonex for 10 years and did my last shot sept 17th. still kind of scared of tysabri but your videos help alot and i am looking forward very much to my first infusion. and yes your walking is sooo good now, great to see it.
Thanks Steve,

Hi Vern and Happy New Year! How's that "fried" computer coming along? You must have had your 27th infusion by now? I'm so glad you're doing so well.
Thanks again for videoing and posting, and may the New Year bring you all the best!

Thanks for your email Sandy!
My fried computer is, um, sketchy. I am trying to work with it but it is a little more messed up than I thought.
Yes, 27th infusion is done and I am still doing well, although missing my daily walks because of the cold weather. I can't wait for summer!

Hi Sandy!
Infusion went great and I wish the bird would sing LOUDER here!!!!! Who is this Phil groundhog guy and why does he insist on longer winters?
Thanks Sandy

Looking good Vern. You had me worried. Walking, what a concept.
I am feeling better after #6 on the rituxan. Had to do one of those 4mg steroid blister packs though.
But now I can stand straight up without having to grab on to anything.
Small but not bad.

As always, your fan club out here is rooting for ya Vern!!
I'm watching and gathering info from you and others doing Ty...hope none of you feel like we're stocking you!! :-))
Take care and glad the Monsters went away. I always have to remember on those days, this too shall pass.
It usually does.

Vern...this is seriously good news, walking better, seemingly full of eneregy, and not sounding down like a few days ago.
I hope you can hold the line forever, or even get more improvement.
But excuse me if I inquire also about Doug - how is he walking ?
:o)
7mumfred7 3 years ago
:) If I keep the booze in the cabinet, Doug walks very well!
vbeachy 3 years ago
OK, that's good news about Doug too.
Just keep the cabinet keys under wraps, but please also make an exception once a month when the full moon comes around.
