I would put Tim Riley right next to George Younce when it comes to the top 2 Bass singers in Gospel music. Cathedrals and Gold City were classics. I dislike it when people join a group for just a season, just to go solo. Burns me up!
Wish I knew; I *think* it's an augmented something....or maybe he threw in a blue note or two. With Roger, ya just NEVER knew what he'd do. It's one of the reasons I have always loved his playing.
Ernie Hasse is now with signature sound and Scott Fowler is with Legacy Five. Both are great groups but none compare to The Cathedrals. The Greatest Group of all time and yes I mean greater than the Statesmen and Blackwood Brothers.
You won't get any argument from me. As far as I'm concerned the only other two groups in the argument are the Statesmen with Denver Crumpler and for pure sheer talent, the Gold City grouping of Parker, Free, Lefevre, and Riley. Of course, Riley is the weak point not near the talent of George Younce or Big Chief. It is hard to argue with the Cathedrals who had the absolute perfect lead singer.
One of my favorite songs!! just 1 fringe benefit of being redeemed. Unsaved folks have no idea what they are missing out on - including this deeper, inner river of fellowship .
This make me so happy to see! They are (were) such fantastic singers, especially the bass singer. Does anyone know when and where this concert was held?
This is one of the greatest gospel songs I've ever heard. I have more than once nearly crashed my car while listening to it, I get so carried away. That piano player has earned a star on his crown for the way he bangs those keys. LOVE IT.
There is not a mother, sister, friend, or brother Loves the way that Jesus can He proved His love for me when He died on Calvary He gave His life for fallen man (Chorus) His love (His love) is a boundless love And it reaches down and touches me His love (He love) is an endless love That will last for all eternity (Bridge) Jesus wants to love you, there is none above you You are precious in His sight He will never fail you when the doubts assail you He'll be with you day and night
This song tells it better than i have heard it told in along time and i know that when i stray from him his love is still there because his love is endless love and he love all the time. Thank you lord
This is a great classic southern gospel song, but it is also cool because of something that is not very obvious. Watch at about 1:13, over Ernie's shoulder you will see Anthony giving a musical cue to someone. He points up, and holds up four fingers, this may not mean anything to most people, but he was telling someone that they were modulating up, to the forth of that key. Obviously, Anthony had no music, but he heard the change and was giving cues on the fly. Just goes to show his talent!
i love the cathedrals i listen to them every sence i was a kid know i know that glen, roger and most of all gorge has gone home to be with the lord i miss them until i get to heaven so i can see them again
I marked this as favorite site and whenever satan's advocate come my way, I come here and my computer room is fill with the Spirit of God and His Boundless Love. Not just great music but a great message. HE IS LOVE.
This song is a great example of the harmonies you find in many of the groups that sing southern gospel. The Catherals were a great group ,each member a talented singer in their own right and when they sing together,it's pure magic. You can't help but feel good listening to this song.

My preacher would always talk about God's boundless love. Everytime he would say His love is a boundless love I'd think of this song.
