  • @liduation swim suit

  • Your legs are suppose to be together

  • You should keep your knees closer. Just type Kitajima and watch maestro doing ihe job.

  • @liduation avoid sunlight

  • do u think i would look at this video if i had local swimming expert??

  • I actually kicked a boy while doing this

  • This is the best lesson for the kicking i ever seen.

  • it might sound like he knows what he's talking about, but this is really wrong! breaststroke is really hard to do so please dont listen to this FOOL! btw you suppose to have your knees together in the hole kick!

  • @bleftenschneider No the breaststroke is the easiest swimming style 2 do, besides the doggy paddle & freestyle strokes which are basic swimming skills

  • At the beginning of the video, it sounded like he was explaining why the street name for ghonoriea is "The Clap." :D

  • My, oh, my... if one of my swim instructors taught breaststroke like this, I'd fire them! NEVER allow your knees to come apart during breaststroke. EVER. Period. This allows less drag and is MUCH quicker. And by the way, the best way to learn how to swim is from experiance. Videos just wont do it. Good luck guys, swimming is THE healthiest sport for you. It's easy on the joints and works just about everything. :)

  • @MsCarpetShark stop trying to confuse us smartass

  • My arms are okay in breaststroke, but my kick is horrific. I'm great at back, free and fly, I love IM's but my breaststroke just always slows me down. My coach says my kick is too wide. Know any drills that would help? Thanks

  • @OceanWaterNine There are many drills to help with wide kicks. Do the double-kick drill, because this allows you to focus on the legs, without the pull. Imagine that your knees are glued together. Allow ony an inch between them when kicking. Focus on the legs. Dont worry about the pull.

  • @MsCarpetShark Thanks :) Yeah my coach told me about that drill with the knees glued together- he made me use a pull bouy, I've been trying to improve my kick and I think it's getting better. Thank You!!! :-)

  • is he homosexual

  • @1996baltie are u a dum cunt

  • Breaststroke is my favourite stroke. I'm hoping to place really well in it this year.

  • i m beginner when i do breaststrokes i sink in water any help

  • does swimming help ur body to produce the V shape?? and if it does which style does it better? breast stroke or freestyle??? or maybe other style???

    thanks :)

  • @seeyousaturday breaststroke owns. and freestyle helps you get the v depend what kind of freestyle you do

  • @staddlez so breaststroke is the better way to get the v shape rite?

  • @seeyousaturday butterfly. lol, getting the V shape is much harder in breast as it's much more technical...like much more. so it depends how good your technique for breast is. for butterfly work hard to get your upper body working first... I just push the water out of the way as hard as I can even if it starts to hurt, after 1-2 practice your muscles are gonna get used to it and you'd be faster :).

  • i dont do my kicks that way

    its slower for me

  • Your knees are way to spread

  • Omg yes. This is what brings down my entire stroke. I mean my pull is ok, it's just that I have a butterfly kick in there :/

  • it doesnt mess up ur knees

  • i swim competitivley and im goint to eastern zoones!!

  • i would like to improve my breaststroke, but unfortunately i don't have any breast.

  • @ice7227 Um, Yes you do. 9Have breasts) Everyone does. Just cause guy's don't have boobs that aren't swollen doesn't mean you have breasts.. AKA, boobs that point out

  • so the kick board thing will also help u 2 rite?

  • Don't do this. You're supposed to have your feet outside, not your knees. This is not only slow, but also messes up your knees.

  • WHEN EXACTLY DO U KICK ??????

  • i'm afraid because i don't know if i can float without the kickboard

  • That kick is wrong indeed. Unless you want to damage your knees real badly, then please continue doing it like that ;)

The legs should not be opened that much after the bend ... not efficient and rather hurtful. Drawing on my own experience.

  • DQ'ed at 1:20

    chk his legs

    thumbs up if u agree

  • breaststroke and backstroke are the styles i know best and i do only them - i would like to learn freestyle but for now its bit hard to me but still i dont agree with magority that says only freestyle burns fat most - all the styles workout

  • who is my local swim expert?

  • This guy's kick is wrong

  • @ADVERTlSEMENT seems to work pretty well for him...

  • @ChromeXk His kick is slow because 1. His lower portion of his legs are more narrow than his thighs, which increases his drag. 2. You're not supposed to only squeeze your legs, your supposed to push your legs back while they're moving together.

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Plus, he's got a gay tattoo on his lower back

  • @ADVERTlSEMENT swimming isnt one of those things you can say you MUST do in a certain way. Everyone has their own method. What he teaches is the best way for him and provides the watcher with enough info to get in the pool and try it out yourself. And WTF does his tattoo have to do with anything?

  • @ADVERTlSEMENT Then how do you do the kick? Im simply here to learn the correct technique.

  • @abw815 You're supposed to keep your knees closer, and you especially don't have your knees out farther than your ankles. Look at some underwater views of some olympic breastrokers

  • @abw815 goswim is probably the best place to go.

  • How do you get your feet to sink while you kick/glide.

  • That's "frog kicking" right? Isn't whip kick more effective?

  • because of this my coach says my knees are to wide. fml

  • @edventurekid I know what you mean my coach keeps saying bring your ankles out farther.... and im like what......

  • I am a great swimmer i can do everything but breaststroke .. I never could but my swim team coach said im geting better at it. Its hard but thanks this helped

  • @Mcaite I was the reverse. Only the breastroke came naturally to me, when I started swimming.. Everything else came after months. But then, the breastroke is the least exercise compared to the ozzie crawl or the butterfly :-)

  • @NarutoxJake i got 2nd in state with a 57.8 100 breastroke as a 15 year old

  • @NarutoxJake oh yourr sponsored by a swim company and get paid for winning races and get free stuff from them? bullshit

  • How come my feet always end up above the water when I do breaststroke? I keep my body as flat as possible, head under the water and do a scissor kick but my feet always end up above the water when I am about to snap them together :S

  • Some of the

  • Nothing wrong with the kicking position. However, I think he could have done a better job giving specific drills rather than telling you straight out the position. It doesn't help your practice. Since he chose to explain it in words, he should identify the difference between whip kick and the amateur kick that plagues every new un-coached swimmers.

  • Your thighs should stay fairly straight rather than angling them outward because you'll have a bigger range of expert.

  • Thanks! This was great instruction. Good form.

  • This is bad because his knees are too far apart with the kickboard!!!!!!!

  • you are not supposed to kick with your knees bended inward like that. because it ruins the body propulsion. you try to keep the thighs straight and you do a whip kick with your calfs while the legs do separate and you DO bend your knees, you never want to tuck your thighs in

  • swimming is the best sport b/c ur basically working out al your muscles so time to be like a fish with huge arms

  • that made no sense

  • I love the idea of swimming but i'm not to fond of losing weight. Does swimming cause weight loss?

  • not being rude but obviously it does. swimming is a form of exercise.

  • don't worry about that, "amindada" just eat as much as you burn and you'll be ok. any swimmer having trouble with the punds ought to blame his fork not his sport. Get to the pool man and don't worry about losing or gaining weight. Eat more if you wanna stay the same weight and eat less if you wanna lose. That's all it is to it. Get to the pool and get your swim on.

  • swimming is the best, best exercise you could ever do. wanna know why? its because when u r swimming u dont really notice your body working too hard, when you r and its really fun. i hope you keep swimmming good luck

  • @aquaagu2 if your working hard you should notice it...i sweat in practice all he time... if your working hard your gonna notice it

  • @PeacockLongboards ya i already realized since uce moved up in my team but thx

  • @EddieLandsberg haha yeah

  • @EddieLandsberg Nojenta.

  • @EddieLandsberg thats both so creepy and so true

  • @EddieLandsberg haha ur right :D

  • @EddieLandsberg I hope you dont go to my pool gross

  • @EddieLandsberg HAHAHAHA XD

  • @aquaagu2 It's also great on a warm day to be swimming and gliding through the water, and the breathing makes you very relaxed and it works out your whole body. Can't get much better than that!

  • @8bobthebuilder yeah exactly.

  • yes definatly! you can burn 600 calories swimming!

  • swimming is a form of excersising...like weight lifting, you need to eat or else you lose mass....the end

  • lol

  • Not very much, swimming is one of those exercizes that are very very gentle, for this reason is suggested to people with injurires, elderly people that can't do sports with high impact etc... Do swim if you enjoy it, you'll hardly loose any weight.

  • yeah right , thats why olympic swimmers are such flabby lard arses . Like anything , it depends how much effort you put in . Try golf.

  • @Papiprah R U RETARDED. ITS ONE OF THE MOST FAT BURNING SPORTS EVER.

  • @aquaagu2 Actually no, there is a lot of research that proves otherwise. You may want to read a couple, but then of course with your "know it all" attitude it may be too much for your pride to stand corrected.

  • @Papiprah any other sport can be very very gentle if it isn't taken seriously... we burn at least 800 calories a day..

  • God job Phillip. You are a good instructor. I like how you demonstrate.

  • I have been swimming for nine years but the stroke I have had the most trouble with is Breastroke. I have gotten in the habit of doing a dolphin kick after each kick and I end up going wicked deep. Does anyone have any idea how I can correct this?

  • thank you ... you're so helpful!

  • thanks, im learning to swim i think this will help me. i dont really care if his kick is not 100% right but he's still moving forward by just kicking which i cant manage yet, i need to work on the kick.

  • That's a horrible whip kick!

  • people can teach you how to do a proper kick... but different things work for different people. if everyone did the same thing we would have the same strokes, glides, and tempo. but eventually your body will figure out what works best for you. yeah you get tips and training. but you have to incorporate it into you and your stroke.

  • can sum1 plz tell this dude he has a serious screw kick! he needs 2 turn his feet out!! XD

  • very good introduction to the breaststroke kick. good foundation to know!

  • haha please contact your local swimming expert

  • his knees are placed horribly

  • wow...that's more of a frog kick. Ankles should be further apart than knees

  • Power!
