  • If you're going to title a video with "How to Care For a Ferret : Pet Ferret Facts" how about actually doing so.

  • i <3 ferrets

  • Ferret or chinchilla? :p

  • WOW !!! That was pretty comprehensive.

I now feel like an authority on ferret care, thanks so much.

  • Oh that helped not

  • ????????? Question i luv ferrets and i want to get one i was just wonderering how do ferrets react to living with medium sized dogs and how do medium sized dogs react to ferrets i have two very nice german sheperd ladies. they are both very nice dogs and i think actually at first my dog chloe will probably be afraid of the ferret. anyways they both do go after rabbits and have killed some. Thankyou

  • @jared1772 it is not recommended for ferrets to be housed or come in contact with dogs. There is always an exception to the rule, but since you have two german shepherds that love to hunt I wouldn't take that risk. The ferret will likely get very hurt or get killed. I have had ferrets for years now, and the only animal I would pair them with are cats. Even then you need to supervise the cat for a few weeks to make sure it's not exhibiting stalking behavior on the ferrets.

  • @NorthWolfs awwwww... i have 3 but my old one bella died. :( i miss her! she was such a trouble maker

  • Sooo how fo you care for a ferret?

  • Ferrets are cute! I miss my Ferret. RIP Stinky Coco :(

  • U didn't tell us ANY useful info at all :/

  • read the title "ferret facts" =_=

  • Expertvillage, Maybe you should stop making misleading titles and you help NO ONE.

  • wow i live 30 minutes from this store. i could find her.

  • Dum

  • STUPID!? [Video I mean... lol :p]

  • Pointless video.

  • This should be callled "How to go to google and search 'Ferret' "

Silly cow, we want to hear something about ferrets, other than go to a vet....

  • It 6 to 10 year

  • my ferret is funny when he gets playful he will start making these hissing noises

  • @ChezeroDelVonBlair Same here ._. I keep looking them up now <.<

  • @XxVanillaCupcakesXx Ahh they can still be nice to have too :) i looked those up too :3

But Ive looked up alot of animals :D

  • Ferrets are dangerous!

    i like danger

  • MAH FERRETS NAME IS TOBY

  • Nothing in this says how to care for a ferret.

  • @masterclif thats because this video is called pet ferret facts. the whole series is about ferret care

  • @masterclif i know

  • @Horsegirl939 awwwwww

  • @masterclif That's because this video is kinda like more of an introduction. If you want any more of these information, just look more of the expertvillage's videos about ferrets.

  • just remember a ferret isnøt a ''hamster'' or gerbil, a ferret is NOT like them, they eat them.... in nature atleast...

a ferret is like owning a dog/cat7monkey, f you want a ferret you gotta consider ''can i afford a cat'' and '' do i got the time to have a dog right now?''

it needs abig cage for when your gone, and the rest of the time when your home ''if no to bussy'' it needs to be OUTSIDE the age, running around freely like a dog, if you cant do that, dont get one yet :)

  • i got 2 ferrets and they rock. if you are thinking about getting one, DON'T HESITATE! THEY ARE HILARIOUS!!!!!!

  • As usual, misleading title, told me nothing about how to care for a ferret! useless!

  • Comment removed

  • @111skaterade Yes. I would only partially do her.

  • @111skaterade yes ,she is all yours..lol

  • i fucking hate expert village, for one instructional video they upload 13400000 sections just to get noticed

    it's fucking annoying as hell

  • i want a ferret!!!!!!!

  • @Horsegirl939 Me too!!

  • Me three three

  • wow i learned nothing

  • kitten that smells bad and bites xD

  • are white ferrets females and black ferrets males?

  • @azoziiee No its nothing like that, there are many colors and breeds of ferrets, the white or white with red eyes can be either female or male, same rules apply with stinkpot, champagne or black.

  • @XxRavynRampagexX are stinkpot champagne ferret colors?

  • @azoziiee yes, champagne is a salt and peppered- gray and white fur color that has co-dominant genes, stinkpot is a whit with a reddish brown color point.

  • @XxRavynRampagexX thanks now i can choose the color of the ferret i want to buy!

  • "exotic mammal veterinarians"? If they're that common then would they be exotic? They're domesticated too right?

  • @LagmonX a normal veterinarian would not have any knowledge about a ferret, so they're considered exotic animals.

  • @boredBordeaux Why not? A vet should specialize in normal household pets right? They are the 3rd most popular pet in america so they should know about them.

  • @LagmonX lol they are popular, but not that popular.

  • i hate the expert village vids

    theyre too short >.< haha

  • Yea I threw mine away

  • If this is a How To video you spent all your time pushing your vet. Crapola,

  • Please boycott Petsland, Their animals all come from mills and farms.

  • @Ingiequeen really then i will how do you know

  • my farret is dead ;( and i love my farret she got a stroke ffs

  • Wow that video told me.... Nothing!! I am just as knowledgable now as I was before watching this video.

  • haha i have the same glasses

  • That wasn't much of a how-to at all. The only valid how-to tip was to get a ferret vet. Nothing else. I think I'm going to flag this for LYING, MISLEADING TEXT.

The filmmaker has his head up his oriental rectum, too. Ever heard of AUDIO LEVELS? That is, make the intro sound level the SAME as the article level, not one high and one low.

Thumbs down & flagged. Get real, people.

  • @TheMrBlinx

... ..what an asshole this guy Blinks is - -

  • @niterazor You are obviously part of the problem, not the solution. BTW, learn to read and spell, imbecile.

  • umm cats can live till their 20.....and this video doesn't tell you anything! how do I know that cats can live till their 20? well I used to help out at a cat rescue and they had a cat their that was twenty year/ and or nineteen years old

  • That face at 0:40.... i have 2 ferrets, almost always had atleast 1 as a pet, that face is them rockin a duece in the corner.

  • @Madjacker08 hello, i want a ferret how or were do i buy one??

i live in California and idk were to get one -_- please help

  • @whiplash120 I think ferrets are illegal in California. I live in Pa. They sell them at the pet stores here.

  • @whiplash120 at really any pet store

  • @Madjacker08 LOL so true! i would recognize that ferret expression in any ferret xD

  • screw the longboard! im getting a ferret!

  • Even for a ferret with free range of the house, a cage is a smart thing to have on hand.

  • what shoulD I GET,a guinea pig or a ferret if i have a jack russell?

  • @ma5asskoun Ferret

  • @ma5asskoun neither

  • @ma5asskoun Ferrets can defend themselves more agianst a dog ... I dont tink a guines pig can so i would suggest a ferret .. My dogs dont like them ... They run away everytime ones near .. lol ...

  • Dislike!!! Those ferrets are kept absolutely under the wrong circumstances!!! Ferrets can DIE with that crappy mulch on the bottom, because they eat their meat (YES, THEY ARE CARNIVORES AND NEED 90% MEAT PER DAY) from it, so when they swallow it they are going to suffer a intestinal blockage and certainly die of it.

People, this video is misinforming, if you want ferrets, INFORM YOURSELF AND KEEP THEM SPECIES-APPROPRIATE, NOT LIKE A RODENT!

  • By the way, they are not even animals to be kept in a cage, that about "keep them like kittens"...

  • do ferrets get along with guinea pigs?

  • @albinrhinnooable They eat them... Ferrets are carnivores!!!

  • @SevenBeer really?

  • Yes, really. They don't get along with any kind of rodents, you have to feed your ferretS (a ferret witout at least one other ferret is to 100% going to be distraught and certainly unhappy) with mise or chicks. If you understand German, go to frettchen [.] omg [.] lu, you'll find everything you need there. If not, please inform yourself before getting ferrets, they are really difficult to handle and not "snugglebuns" like they are presented here...

  • @SevenBeer I disagree. At 'least if you're unable to properly give that ferret attention, a single ferret is perfectly capable of being healthy and happy by itself. I do not cage my ferret, and I make sure to play with her 'whenever' she is awake; complete and undivided attention. Everyone else in my household gives her that same attention. She's been healthy for 3 years now, no health problems whatsoever.

  • @tina909 You don't seem to know that a ferret can die alone... They are such socialble animals, they can't be healthy alone! As I said, if they don't die as cause of living alone, they certainly are perturbed. But if you think you, as a human, can give a ferret, what a ferret has from another ferret, go and enclose yourself in a room with a dog! What, this dog can't give you what you need in your life?

Don't deprive your ferret of their lifemate, play- and cuddlepartner! Think about it.....

  • for fuck sake u never lift a ferret with the scruff of the neck if it wants to bit u it wil lol just dont b scared from abite and pick the wee guy up like a puppy suport it wie yer forearm and scratch behind its ears and it will do any thin u want it too lol

  • why do you have to take your ferret to the vets as soon as posible???

plzzz it will be greatful to get an answer from sum1...

  • @YEMEN246 Oh please, inform yourself, that's basic knowledge about ferrets. Females MUST be castrated, (everything that produces hormones has to be taken out!) if not, they'll die, because they can't stop producing hormones (if not pregnant) so they enpoison theirselves with them... I can only reapeat myself, people, inform yourself BEFORE getting ferrets!

  • Are ferrets normally neutered or spayed when you buy them?

  • @Jakob19490

The guy who always helps me at my local pet store told me that ferrets have to be spayed or neutered before they're sent to the pet store. At that place they de-scent them too, but I don't know if that's required.

  • im sorry but i hope petland goes out of buissness. because guess where they get their puppies? PUPPY MILLS!!! GRRR we got a westie for my grandma and a boxer for us and we call those dogs rescues cause they are. PETLAND SHALL DIEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -_-

  • lol this vids they make.. are crap.. u dont get any info from them, istead u look at ugly girl with glasses from last centuary..

  • @Evenrix15Linda wow that was mean! i think shes pretty (no im not lez so dont even try that) even though this was from two months ago i think thatt was mean and i got a LOT of info from it mainly bc i am a future ferret owner i think its helpful

  • IM GETTING my ferret on mid february

Everyone says there ugly but i reckon there smexy :D cant wait to train it

  • @xXVampirexKnightXx They're very cute.

  • @xXVampirexKnightXx Your FERRET, is certainly going to die, what most ferrets that are kept without at least one other ferret will do...

  • i like her glasses

  • @wtfgrl101 How!?

  • its weird how scorpians and tarantula's are not illegal in california, but ferrets and hedgehogs are.

  • @legoman97546 I agree. I do not support the ferret ban. But here in california, we have tarantulas in the wild. The state law about about ferrets and hedgehogs state that they will form feral packs and disrupt the local ecosystem(Yeah, SUPER retarded right?). And because we have local tarantulas, a loose pet apparently wouldn't disrupt anything ecologically .....

  • @legoman97546

i only thought it was New York where Ferrets where Illegal. Can you also own a Wolf in California?

  • @legoman97546 Illegal in California?! Fuck :/ Lol

  • @legoman97546 when i was in 4th grade my teacher had a tarantula in the class and it bit somone and it went all bad he was like freaking out but he was fine luckly

  • @legoman97546 haha lol realy that sucks.

  • @legoman97546 yeah who ever passed that law can burn in hell and fucking die :@

    ferrets forever!!! ^_^

  • @legoman97546 actually there's a good reason: ferrets hunt numerous prey that other Californian animals eat and rely on so if hedge hugs and ferrets were to get loose it will mess up the food chain and make some animals die off to extinction.

  • @phillipdogyface Umm that could go for any state. California just has messed up laws, you can't own live stock other purpose then to make money, and ferrets arent allowed In some states because ther are conisdered wild animals wich they arent at all, they never were, and they also are thought to easily catch rabies and give to humans, which it is very rare that a ferret catches rabies, and it would die very quickly if it did.

So there really is no good reason why ferrets should be banned.

  • @dluxhatesmiley also I know ferrets arent live stock I was just saying that as an example.

  • @dluxhatesmiley some ferrets are wild animals but humans have domesticated them a lot and killed many more so its kinda uncommon to find one in the wild

  • @legoman97546

    threat to local fauna maybe?

I guess a ferret could easily survive outside the home if it is at least moderately warm. And he would hunt down all birds in sight.

As for hhogs - maybe they are under protection?

  • @legoman97546 The California Fish and Game department says that if they get loose they'll breed and multiply, eventually becoming feral. However, this is humbug ferrets have been domesticated for so long that they would only be able to survive in the wild for 3-4 days...

  • @legoman97546 Scorpions and tarantula are indigenous to most of California, European polecats and hedgehogs are not. It's a question of preventing a wild breeding population that disturbs local ecology (like issues in Australia). Unfortunately, irresponsible pet owners have caused this issue.

  • i think im a little dummer for watching this crap

  • this video does not talk about how to care for ferrets it just talks about were you can go to have some one care for your ferret... a bunch of b.s.

  • my cousin had one he took good care of it but it always bit him all the time for no reason any help

  • ferrets have a tendency to be very nippy when they play. If they havent been trained to be gentle they can really hurt.

They're quite a bit like cats that way.

  • bite training has be done young you offer a finger with bit of egg and milk on them let them lick and if they try to bite you give the nose a light flick, this is how i trained my ferrets and they never bite

  • you need to handle it more n give it a good slap when it bites or ping it in the nose it will soon stop

  • @dontwatchthatwatchme NOOOOO You should never do this you should just simply pick it up and give it a gentel tap on the nose and say "no" seesh

  • @dontwatchthatwatchme Don't slap your ferret, it'll only get aggressive...

  • @erererer2 Your cousin had ONE, that's the reason... Stupid people, do NOT keep them alone, if they don't actually die, they are aggressive!

  • Yea thats not really a lot of information about ferrets, I could tell you more within the time you've just wasted making this video. Expert Village need to actually give out info or do us all a favour and go away...

  • i learned alot do you know where any ferret breeders are in NJ??

  • i have a chinchilla and i am want to get a ferrets are the good together?

  • they might try and eat the chinchillas

  • will they try to eat a mini wiener dog

  • no but my ferret eats hot dogs and licorice

  • how much is a ferret

  • depends where you live but at petco they are normally 100-150 dollars which is a great price considering they are litter trained and desented :)

  • thats a shit price!

  • my ferret was $119.00

  • they are £20 in england

  • i got two from norwich cattle market for 2 quid

  • the ferrets i got where already decented

  • Hey, thanks! I was worried there wouldn't be a qualified vet in Bedfordshire, but that website helped me find one! :)

  • Great information for people who are thinking about getting a ferret for a pet. They are such playful and cuddly pets... very popular in the UK. Thanks!
