I am ashamed to claim I directed this and relieved it was never made. We knew we were going against all that was great about Thunderbirds but we were under the control of people who didn't understand the concept of the original... Very sad! I hop it is treated fairly this time round although CG doesn't seem to be the way to go!

Thunderbirds is such a loved show and has lasted the test of time,yet it is without a doubt the one Gerry Anderson show that fans have wanted to see return for as long as I can remember,thanks to the networks and their brilliant time slotting Gerrys "New Captain Scarlet" only lasted 2 seasons,but at last Thunderbirds returns in full CGI as was Scarlet and I have read it may premier around Xmas time this year....Prime your Subwoofers everyone......Thunderbirds are again go..

This wasn't made, because Gerry Anderson met Trey Parker before the production, but they cancelled it because Gerry thought there are some good parts in the film, but the language in it wasn't what he prefered.

i love the original thunderbirds. i have the dvds, same with captain scarlet. the bottom line, is that you just cannot beat the puppet version with the real hands and strings. and that 60's trying-to-be-futuristic feel. i felt the CGI captain scarlet wasnt bad. they did do it pretty proud. it could have been worse. quite honestly-and there were rumors about a CGI series in 2008-id love to see an updated series. they can only try.

Total Bullshit , im glad this version of Thunderbirds was never shown , it says on Wikipidia that this version was being made but at some point Carlton and someother company merged toghter or something and this version was stopped , thank god it aint ever going to appear on TV , still i recently heard Thunderbirds is coming back as a C.G.I. Series so if thats true then i hope it looks original to original show and not this crap .

That was absolutely rubbish and an affront to the brilliant original. The puppets were horrid and Scott's attitude in this remake is all wrong, not to mention terrible looking, too. As a die-hard fan of the original series (thank you Gerry and Sylvia Anderson), I can respect a revival and will look forward to it, but it must be done with taste and panache. Not rubbish like this piece.

I'm not against a revival, but they could at least make the marionettes not as freaky looking. In the originals they had one-facial-expression-suits-al­l. Part of the charm. In my head though, as a fan, I can see a much better live action movie where Scott and virgil actually rescue people as per usual. Sort of like how batman begins revamped the franchise. Although not as dark. Just not soppy disney.

Even though the original show was completely British made, Gerry Anderson purposely wanted it to be as Americanised as possible because he knew that an American audience would be more attracted to it that way. If this is made the same way then I don't see how it can lose its appeal.

Im a massive fan of thunderbirds, and would love to see it revived. The new techy gismos of today can and should be used to create a modern masterpiece. So bring it on Carlton/Granada - CGi and Marionettes. Get your act together, and sort it out FAB...

Granada and Carlton fell asleep! A gold mine ready to be lost since the old generation will seat with the new one. You have my blessings do the series in 2008!

THIS IS THE SHIT!!!! I wish they wouldn't have shelved it. Of course the cgi is noticable, but hell it blends pretty well and they use the puppets with it to make some pretty damn spectacular looking shit. IT looks true to the originals to. I'd love to see it revived.

I hope whatever it is it won't be as bad as the recent 'New Captain Scarlet' the only bad thing about the orignal series was that it had a very bad ending.

As much as I wasn't a fan of the new CGI Captain Scarlet character models they look superb compared to this. What the hell happened to Scott?!! They should never. ever try to resurrect any of the old Supermarionation series, especially Thunderbirds. It's not about the model work or CGI vs puppets. It's about the characterisation and stories and we just can't do that stuff for kids TV now, it's a lost art. It's all about selling stuff now.

As much as I love Thunderbirds, I think what made the show so great was that it was one of the first shows to use supermarionation. They've now taken that and merged it was CGI? They've made Scott and everyone else look scary!

Personally, I'm glad they shelved this idea. The movie was hard enough to watch with the bad acting(excluding Sophia Myles and Ron Cook they did a great job), so I don't know if this show would even have that many viewers.

I have to say that it holds up pretty well, yep Scott looks a bit different but if anything, it's the voice - none of the old Scott's gravitas.

I still remember having my first "What the f---" moment when as a four year old I saw the first ever episode of Thunderbirds. Those opening titles still get the hairs on the back of my neck standing up!

Thank God this was shelved. This makes one of the best pieces of TV ever look so Americanised and commercial, when really Thunderbirds had nothing really to do with America, except the Tracy family were meant to be American. This is never emphasized in the entire series. In short, this is awful.
