My class is reading this book and I gotta say, I really don't agree with him on very much. But I applaud his intent. He was a sweet man, charming, caring, loving. Only good things can be said about him. However, I disagree with many of his beliefs. Not the basic ones, I mean the "status will get you nowhere" beliefs. I agree that that SHOULD be the case, but in our society, sadly, it is not.
the story he was telling about the wave that crashed i just finished reading that not not to long ago and that book touched me and mad me think of life in a different point of few about life. RIP. Morrie Schwartz. <3
I just finished reading the book for summer reading, and all i can say is how much he has inspired me to be someone in life. I want to help other people, and this book is truly inspiring, and i will always admire Morrie throughout my life
since i saw this interview back when it first aired, the story of the ocean and the wave as told by morrie schwartz has had a profoundly positive effect of my outlook in life.
"Your not a wave. Your part of the ocean." Taken word for word in his book. When he said this in the video about, I felt chills go down my spine. Awe Inspiring.
i am a freshman in highschool and i am currently writing an essay for a project on this book. Recently my grandfather has passed away and morries story really helped me to accept my grandpas passing. i truthfully think that this is a lesson that everybody should know.
I read this book in my last year of High school just on my own time. I'm not a reader, but I could not put it down. After reading it, Ii completely changed the way I think, the way I act. I desired to follow my passion for photography and now am in college for Photojournalism. This man changed my life....and I wish I could have had the chance to thank him....and I day I will
As a freshman in college i am assigned "tuesdays with morrie" (please excuse the errors.) it has become more than an assignment to read this book. i love this book, this man, and his thoughts and... and everything god bless morrie.
Thank Your Morrie for helping me learn to Love and Forgive my Self along with Forgiving and Loving Others. You have such an impact on my life by reading the book Mitch wrote. I read it in my grade 11 ELA class. Im 22 years old and ive been trying to find the answers to life. Tuesdays with Morrie has answered all my Questions. Thank you Mitch and Morrie. God Bless Morries Spirit :)
I had to read this book for school as a summer reading project, and I am not a fan of reading. At first, the book was just another stupid assignment I had to complete. But once I read the first page, I knew it wasn't just a book, it was a life lesson that we all should learn and embrace. The book was inspiring to me and I hope more people read it and get what I got out of it.
I'm so glad that I've read Albom's book and very impress see this interview on youtube....Morrie is such a passionate old man,, i wish he was my professor too,, he not only teach albom lessons but also the audience who read the book as well....
what an inspiring and truthful man and book I just finished reading it today and cried a couple of times I wish that we could all be more like him in all aspects thank you Morrie wherever you are in this large "ocean" for enlightening us with your honesty, love, compassion, and gratitude. God bless you
i read the book many years ago and that was one of my favorite book, a kind of book that I would want my soon to be children to read and learn from... it is just now I watched the movie, goshh, my tears flowed like a flood all throughout the film I cried especially the touching lines and scenes, thank you so much moorie, indeed you were a man full of wisdom and you were such a blessing even to this day and the generations to come!
this is the most beautiful and moving book that has possibly ever existed. if we could all love and live like morrie did, wouldnt the world just be perfect? RIP MORRIE SHWARTZ
Wow, I wish I could have just sat and listened to him all day. I'm glad he did these interviews with Koppel and I'm so glad that Albom wrote his book!
i love this man, though i never met him personally.. tuesdays with morrie is a fave book of mine.. there, u'll learn a lot of life's lessons.. he's really a great man and teacher..
I read Tuesdays With Morrie at a bus station(for some reasn I got stuck thre for more thn an hour),I was so moved by it I was crying halfway through tht I didn't notice people givng me the what-the-hell-is-she-crying-over? look(which, btw,I wud have found embarassing under such circumstance),& yet the experience was so liberating for true to Morrie's words,it's ok to cry. I just wishd my sister (d 1 who gave me the book)thought of addng a P.S. saying"Be sure to hav a dozen box of kleenx at hand!"
Morrie passed away when I was barely a year old. I really wish I could have met him. Although I never got the honor to meet him, much like most of the people who have fallen in love with this kind old man... I feel like I do know him. Just goes to show how special Morrie was. He did live on, in all of our hearts, in all of our lives. Thank you, Morrie.
i dont even meet Morrie but feels like i knew him for long ... he's a good soul... i love the book "Tuesdays w/ Morrie" and the movie aswell.. made me teary tho .. lol ! TEARS ARE OKAY as like Morrie Said ;))
I have an English project where I have to interview someone and then compare their answers with Morrie's thinking. What are some questions I could ask?
i sometimes wonder when ppl die, do they really understand what they have done for this world. what lessons they have taught us, its amazing that there are 96 comments about this man and i can almost bet he has never met one of us, but yet, look at the lessons he has taught us. look at how many strangers love this man for what he has taught us. he was a wonderful man and i hope his lessons of life and death will live for ever.
Gah I loved Tuesdays With Morrie! I had to read it in my Psyic. class this semister....he is such an inspiration to us all!! Just seeing him on here gives me chill bumps because his story touched me so much :) I cried so much when I read that book!
i was hit hard by the novel as well. However i wore my emotions on my sleeves due to being in a class with a bunch of delinquents. Having a grandparent being taken by ALS and actually living the 'luxuries' that Morrie lived in his last days, it gave me an idea of what happens in the days before our passing.
I love this man! When i get the chance, I am visiting his grave.
I'm a senior and high school and I just finished reading this book yesterday. We were required by the english 12 department to read said book. And thank God they did. It's incredible.
this is such an amazing story. when i found out i had to read it for school i wasnt to thrilled, but once i started, i could not put it down. its such a good book, and i feel like anyone can relate to it because almost everyone knows someone who died. I wish Morrie didnt have to go through all that pain, he seemed like amazing teacher & man.
oh man... i read the book and i couldn't stop reading it. i had to cry while i was on flight. it's THE book that i want to put next to me when i'm dying. really taught me lots of lessons
Why aren't there more people like Morrie on this planet? When I read the book 2 years ago, it changed my life. I'm reading it again, and that's where I got the idea to look up this interview. I'm glad to finally see the face to which the wise character in the book belongs.
If u dont like it,then dont make insulting comments on it.. no one wants to know about your hatred and bitterness and making Morrie's fans feel bad about it... He give hope to people like us, learn to understand that..
ok, i didn't really like it because i find fantasy a little more interesting than stuff that can actually happen. I was over reacting, it wasn't that bad. it was a good story. sorry i affended you.
okay if you dont like the book, FINE! but you dont have to comment it here... better shut up if you cant say anything good... shame on you... im not an english speaker nor an english man but i was able to absorb anything that was written in there even with the culture differences... i got so many lessons about life from that book and i hope you can appreciate it one day!

I am reading the book made about him right now..I think its going to be a little hard,
beacause I just lost my dad about a month ago from cancer, he quit breathing, but he got very sick just like Morrie. Its very sad. do not take your family for granted.. you dont know how long they'll be there, even reading this book will be VERY sad..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ted Koppel was so clever. He now lives comfortably as a retired millionaire after making a career out of trashing the Caucasian race for nearly 3 decades!
He did countless shows castigating Caucasians and having black racists on to "enlighten" the world on how awful blacks supposedly have it in this country.
Never once did he point out specific good things Caucasians have done for blacks, such as providing them with life-saving vaccines and just modern tech in general.
love the movie, haven't read the book, love this with ted koppel, but, wish the website didn't flash every 3 seconds, cuz it is annoying and redirects my attention from what morrie is saying. everyone should see the movie, jack lemmon is excellent in it.
jesse6669, grow up. for 28 years old you act like a freak show, read your website..no wonder why the world is turning out like it is, cuz they have awful thinking and crazy minded people like you. sounds like you just want attention....too bad you dont put you mind into talking nicely and using your words, interests etc..maturely and responsibly.
i had to read the book "tuesdays with morrie" and i have to write a critical lense essay about it. i love his aphorism: "don't let go too soon but don't hang on too long. find the balace."
this is the real "Ted Koppel" show where Morrie Schwartz apparently starred, as said in Tuesdays with Morrie? is this the real one? sorry im not anywhere near america so i dunno. but i love the book
What a wonderful book Tuesdays With Morrie is. I've read it three times now, and the part where Mitch's wife sings "The very thought of you" to Morrie brings a tear to my eyes; such a poignant moment. What a credit to humanity Morrie was, and what a loss to us all
I just finished reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" and I loved it. The book made me rethink a lot things in life, and this Morrie grew to be one of the people I admire in life, simply because he dealt with his death with such class. He was amazing, and I recommend that everyone should read "Tuesdays with Morrie" simply because, its a book that takes the complexity of life, and makes it more simpler.
It´s fascinating how something made out of paper, with letters in it, can make a grown man cry. I loved the book, the simple but strong message it conveyed. I didn´t want to read the last chapter for a while since I knew how it would end. It´s actually the first book ever I haven´t read the last chapter in, the first thing I did...
Morrie reminds me so much of my grandfather. He knows very little English, but the things that he says in his native tongue can be rather thoughtful and possibly mindblowing. One problem however, is that very few people listen to what he has to say, because of Morrie, I will listen much more intently to what my grandfather has to say.
I am doing a thesis based on tuesdays with morrie... the best book by far. He was and still is one of the most remarkable people who has ever exsisted.
"I'll try to find a way to take advantage of silence, because maybe that's the way to really hear yourself."
--Morrie In His Own Words (Morrie Schwartz)
Another highly un-American characteristic (in my opinion), another pearl from Morrie. He does have much to offer the world, as he laments towards the end of this clip..
Same here my teacher said you might enjoy it and i finished it the day i got it .. Simply an amazing guy... had so much to offer and has offered alot to us!
I dont know about u guys, but I'll speak for me and my class mates, Tuesdays with morrie is the best nonfiction book any english teacher has ever shown us, I really recomend to read the book, morrie is such a sweet man, i read the book 4 times in a row!!
Ty for the video!!!<33 Ohmgsh... I love Morrie Sooo Much!! and I wish that I would've seen him in real life. x'[ This interview made me cry!! Love it!!
I just read the book for two days..it's so touching and full of timeless lessons. What gave me goosebumps is when i finished reading the book on November 4th..his death anniversary :)
the writing that keeps appearing is sooo annoying!

THAT's how he operated!

love the movie, haven't read the book, love this with ted koppel, but, wish the website didn't flash every 3 seconds, cuz it is annoying and redirects my attention from what morrie is saying. everyone should see the movie, jack lemmon is excellent in it.

jesse6669, grow up. for 28 years old you act like a freak show, read your website..no wonder why the world is turning out like it is, cuz they have awful thinking and crazy minded people like you. sounds like you just want attention....too bad you dont put you mind into talking nicely and using your words, interests etc..maturely and responsibly.

This talking to us when he was wasting away from ALS was his purpose in life IMHO...I think God sent him to us for this very purpose.

i had to read the book "tuesdays with morrie" and i have to write a critical lense essay about it. i love his aphorism: "don't let go too soon but don't hang on too long. find the balace."

Morrie, you're the man! We miss you here on Earth. Old dudes ROCK! :)

Thank you Morrie, you are missed and loved!

It's great that the book taught a lesson like that to you even though the man teaching it is gone. It really makes you think.

I am doing a thesis based on tuesdays with morrie... the best book by far. He was and still is one of the most remarkable people who has ever exsisted.

I have to do a thesis too. And I must say, doing it will be enjoyable, because it will help you to understand this great book more.
