  • Just like back in the day parents blamed comic books for kids acting out. So now they will blame video games for the same reason.

  • This is an age old subject. I played tons of violent games when I was a kid. Mortal Kombat, Doom, Quake, Resident Evil, House Of The Dead and I'm not a violent person. There was plenty of realistic games back in the N64 days like I mentioned Doom, Quake hell even Goldeneye was some what violent. It's not the games fault if a kid copies something that he sees in a game or a movie it's the kids fault. That kid must have some issues to begin with. Never blame it on the game.

  • Let the kids play whatever they want...But parents PLEASE don't give them mics!

  • that reminds me of the time I think during super nes days when this teenager ate a piece of rotted meat or cheese I for get what it was and tried to blame beatem ups like final fight cause you can eat stuff off the ground in it so he thought you could do it in the real world and tried to sue for it cause he food poisoned himself idiotic beyond belief

  • @hectec69 As kid I thought it is cool to speak to random strangers and entering their houses because zelda and secret of mana showed me that.

  • Did you forget all the crazyness that casue Mortal Kombat and Carmagedon?? Parents are the same now and in the past. Since the 50's to the 70's parents blamed rock music for the miss behavior of their childrens and since the 90's they shifted to videogames. It's the same old shit, parents blaming whatever is popular for whatever their kids do. My Kid will be punished if he missbehave and i am going to be just like my parents who i love and never alowed me to do bad things

  • Thats why I have my kid play KIDDY MADWORLD AND NO MORE HEROES!

    Because... they're on the Wii.....

  • @Collinguy6 Do you have any scientific evidence to support your thoery?

  • It's the Parents fault not the Media. If your child can't handle a certain media or are to immature/stupid to imitate something they see on TV or by playing a Video Game. Then the parents really need to draw a line.

I know kids a sheltered so much now for some reason and never really get told about the real world but Parents really need to know when to act.

    I Blame FOX-News <:T

  • Arch, you should be given your own T.V show :)sdd

Personally, i think that the parents don't want to take the blame for not disciplining their children. So, like you said, they blame it on video game so that they can get away without people judging their parenting skills.

  • @Moonlight437 Ignore the "ssd"

  • my guess parents should learn to take responsibility and to pick up a belt or the nearest blunt object and beat the piss out of there kids

  • @highlander5523 I hope you never have kids (Y)

  • @dcdids2011

its teachs fear and how to control themselves, and you obviously never grow up with a minority family, my mom said if she cant find the belt, she will use the high heels, if she cant find the heels she will use whatever is next to her, have you ever been hit by a bug spray can? it hurts like a motherfucker lol

  • @highlander5523 I would be sad if my kids feared me cause i beat them everytime they do something wrong. Yes, sometimes is necessary some pain, but not like a beating. Thats not the right thing to do and there is medical evidence that says that beating your kids is bad for they health. I have been hit with a broom once, but at least it was ONCE in my whole life and not because I "learned to fear my mom" thus never f*cking up again, it was because my mom realised it was bad to do that.

  • Yes it makes people stupider.

  • I think Dr. Membrane said it best. "Video games improve hand eye coordination, and make children into better human beings."

  • it's a scapegoat there was violence before video games even were invented.

  • I'm 17 right now and I never got beaten because I wasn't a dumb enough kid to try half the shit I saw in GTA or Halo or what ever other game there was a few years back. I don't understand how someone even if they are a kid would do something that would hurt them others or even get them in serious trouble. Yeah we were just kids, but kids aren't idiots... at least most of us arent

  • And sorry for being an anal grammar nazi but in the tittle you accidentally put effect when the proper word is affect.

  • Great point and you forgot to also mention the stupidity of some children because I'm 17 and I've had all those rated M since I was 11 where the feature sex, drugs, alcohol, profanity and gore yet I'm the well behaved star child while my bitch sis never played video games and she's the black sheep.

  • love how you handled this topic, but, unfortunately, i dont have anything to contribute to the debate this time. i just.... drew a blank i guess.

  • Kids now a days aren't being unished enough. I could think of many families around me that don't punish their kids, and those kids behave so bad, yet the parents continue to spoil them. My nephew is one of them. He gets away with everything and I continue to tell my sister to punish him but she feels bad for him and ends up not doing it so he talks back and stuff and later she buys him something. Also games have an M rated for a reason. People shouldnt blame companies cause parents spoil kids.

  • So the moral of the story is...

"Beat Ya Kids!!! It Helps!!!" Chris Rock, Head of State

  • The behavior of children today can be credited to the cultural shift that occured post-9/11, and the rise of the information age that makes explicit content readily available. In an age where children have become desensitised towards violence and conditioned to an environment of warfare and chauvinism, it's no secret why they're seduced by activities that reflect the world they live in.Videogames like COD aren't directly creating the problem, they're providing the medium for our visceral needs.

  • I think you meant "affect", not "effect."

  • There is evidence to believe that it can increase reflexes and hand eye coordination, improve resource management skills and decrease sensitivity to violence but it won't make you shoot up a school. Gamer culture however, is full of twats.

  • for some reason every time I picture you in my head..I see professor Farnsworth

  • Mario has taught me to become a plumber murdering turtles.

  • Video Games are being treated like they are these evil tools that rot our children's brains, this isn't true at all. Even comic-books got this kind of treatment back when they first came out, and now look, parents don't mind. The only reason they say these things are because Video Games are a whole new to thing to them and they don't understand them.

Awesome video as usual, I always enjoy watching them. ;)

  • how do you teach someone the line?

  • soccoer moms and partens today should talk to there kids and not blame video games or the other media in general. :/

  • I did a report on this for my final last semester. I utterly destroyed this argument and my classmates said I had the best paper in the class. Good vid.

  • @Shokio awww don't be a show-off thokio!!! :D

  • if anything video games lower the crime rate and help more than hurt but anything in excess is bad

  • @BroKenGaMezHD How are they lowering the crime rate? I don't see the correlation.

  • ive been waiting for a video about this from you. always knew you would address this.
