Drew they did lock the rate of fire for the pistol. Too many moded controllers. Epic games want to make another playlist to see if they could use this as the primary games style for the possible and rumored Gears of War 4: Pendulm War.

depends ... dedicated servers have been down for the uk for about 2-3 months now .. was mentioned awhile ago the forums ... other countrys have there servers still up an r only on ranked . but from what the info is on the gow3 forums uk servers r down an no news on even bringing them back up . i seem to lag more on ranked then player 0.o

That is because Epic has dedicated servers for all maps(including dlc) and if everyone wanted to have them Epic would need to have double the servers... one for people without dlc and one for people with it. This may seem not complicated but what would happen when there are 4 map packs? And creating a playlist just with dlc maps wouldn't work because there's not enough maps.

I'm back and forth on stay frosty. It's a very limited gametype... you have 2 weapons you can use, no weapon spawns, and you only get grenade kills when you're lucky and they happen to not be paying attention. I actually ended up in a match where some kid had an aim-bot and just pistol shot the entire match...it wasn't very fun. :/

But I've had my good times with it. I just don't see how a 2.5 weapon playlist can survive in the plethora of other 5 weapon lists...

@Fusive7 I'm sorry you feel that way.As one of the top selling games for the 360, I would argue that it's not only succesful, but actually a very fun game if you can get the hang of it.The servers are an issue,not because you need the DLC to play on them,but because I think they are artificial.They seem to just help the 'hosts' connection instead of hosting their own.It's rarely EVER 'laggy' though.I for one and GLAD that there are DLC specific playlists as the other DLCs weren't in matchmaking.

I love the game, but I bought this game just for the dedicated servers. I am not alone when I say that. I will never get host because of an unavoidable moderate NAT type associated with the business modem that Comcast provides me. I didn't buy the season pass because I knew I wouldn't be playing this game for a full year.
