At 1:05, 12.Ne4 seems to makes the idea behind the initial thought of 12.Nxd5 work: [+2.29] d=21 12.Ne4 Nxe4 13.Ba5 Qxb5 14.Qxb5 Nd6 15.Qa4 b5 16.Qb3 Be7 17.OO Nc4 18.Be1 (0:08:27) 82039kN
I do the same thing when I think I see tactics. I double and triple check to make sure they're sound because I've been punished too many times for making tactical blunders. But it's a very rewarding feeling when it works.
I thought so too.... but, maybe KC didn't like ...bf3 to guard g7, while the rook on c8 is guarding g8, stifling that mate, and without the other rook to bring to bear, forcing that idea to mate may have been difficult.
I remember observing this guy when I was on ICC just smashing other players, thinking he was nigh unstoppable. It's cool to see someone beat him with live commentary. This is really invaluable stuff, hearing you formulate your tactics and then positional strategy. Great!
at the end there's no need to double up rooks

12.O-O lets black escape and equalize, creating a place for the queen with 12...a6. (Rybka)

@ 4:25 ... what's the problem with e4? I don't get it. or trading rooks and e4...

Awesome queen trap! You are really great. Can someone explain why 23 Rcx8 24 Qg2 isn't a good move?

Very nice! Really inspired chess from you! 12. Ne4 was possible but you saw that 12.Nxd5 didn't work which is nicely calculated.

Nxd5 was very nice! By the way, if he played Qd8, you could still have played Ba5 and if b6, then Bxc6+, etc.

Very nice tactic which 90% of people would simply not see at all, very well played.

Nice trap!
At move 23, isn't swapping the rooks on the C file and then queen to g2 or g3... very difficult to counter?
