  • @latinbeuty15 great! :) hope you'll enjoy it! :)

  • good work , but personally i think the little girl drawing would look better in a monochrome white and grey

  • @wartree thanks! :) interesting how art speaks differently to different people, isn't it? :)

  • TY and LOVE the music, too!

  • Artistic Biker suggested that I check this out. I am glad I did. I really enjoyed it.

  • @redcar1968 thank you so much for dropping by! x

  • so freaking awesome!

  • thank you jen. :) x

  • THIS IS GORGEOUS! and so are you! oooo! What brand of smudgey crayons do you use in your journals? it looks super cool!

  • thank you!! sorry, can't remember the brand, they were quite old and cheap!! :) xoxo

  • so beautiful...so inspiring.

    i too love glitter :D

  • thanks so much shannon! x

  • I love your art work. It's amazing. My favorite piece is girl & octopus, it is beautiful. You have actually inspired me to get back into art again. Just wondering what pen did you use (the Black Pen), is it just a fine tip pen or was it something else.

    Thank you

    KelseyRenee xx

  • many thanks kelsey renee! the pen i use is a standard fine tip uniball! xx

  • me ha gustado mucho..!!gracias por compartir

  • mucho gracias! :) x

  • well done tam! I have a little question...wich is the name/band of the sweet song on this video???

  • thanks! i'm not sure, can't remember! if you watch it to the end i usually mention the band, i think it may be gregory and the hawk! :)

  • such a simple art but it is beautiful and classic, like you..... you're simple but you're beautiful and you have a touch of class. keep up a good work. i love your work,,,,

  • glad you enjoyed the video and work :)

  • I have watched this one several times. I share this affinity you have for glitter. I put it all over the place in my arts. :D

  • glitter is wonderful indeed! :D thanks for watching! xoox x

  • Beautiful painting! Enjoyed watching how it came together. :-)

  • thank you! xoox

  • wow i really like it ! =) its so pretty and different ^^ i like when art has a dif look =)

  • thank you!! x

  • 8:20 Um can you spell TALENT?!

  • the first time i saw someone rip up a book, i was horrified lol i did my first act the other night lol was a big deal for me lol but t was an old tourist book of london in 1970 that i rescued from a free bin once lol was liberating! :D

  • i know! it's scary isn't it when you first rip a book! lol, now i'm very used to it! :) thanks!

  • i knew that was a Audrey k drawing but not quite as clean as she is everything she does in her drawings seem so accurate she's so distinctive in her style no one is like her

  • I discovered emiliana torrini when she sang "gollum's song" on the Lord of the Rings. What is a tam? Is it someone from Scotland?

  • ha ha. *i* am tam. i am "a tam". ha ha!

  • Now this sounds like a Dr. Seuss book. I am Tam. Tam I am.

    But what is "a" tam?

  • hee hee. a tam is an odd sort of creature that lives in a box of paints! she enjoys pink bubblegum and avocados. x

  • love, love, love this! seeing you at work is always inspiring!

  • I <3 my watercolour pencils. And I want to try your crayon method. You've got me feeling particularly artsy this morning, Tam. Thank you.

P.S. Have I told you I find the wee dot below your eye adorable?

  • Wonderful work. Very inspiring. Thank you.

  • i just love u Tam, watching these videos again reinstates for me what a lovely soul yo have. mwah..

  • love ur technique very much :)

    cheer

  • Love the video!

I am curious what pen, pencil, what-have-you you used for the black outline on the girl? I am always looking, and not finding, a black pen that works over various mixed medias...

  • thank you! :-) i use pilot pens but they're not always great. this one isn't actually waterproof so it smudges if near water. but you should be able to find some that are waterproof! good luck and thanks for dropping by. :-)

  • Loved it :)

Giggled at the "sophisticated pencil"... I can relate!!

    Lorri

  • :) thanks lorri. we, as artists, are highly sophisticated indeed! ;)

  • I use an eyeshadow brush for painting too. lol.

I cant find watercolor pencils anywhere near me, I've been wanting to them for a year now.

    Anyways.

I love your videos, they are really inspiring.

    :)

  • thanks onearmedman. you can order them online if you can't find them in your art stores! |:-)

  • great art and video!

  • xoxo thanks A!

  • Wonderful! I love it!

  • love, love, love!!! I will have to try the sophisticated pencil holding technique...lol...hee! you are awesome! thanks for sharing. love watching you create your pages. I'm learning alot from you, plus it's very relaxing to watch. ~lia

  • Aw, thanks Lia!!! :-) I'm glad you're enjoying it so and I love hearing that it inspires people or that it's 'educational'!! :))) Big hugs. Tam xo

  • Heey, great video :) I like the end result!!

I was just wondering though, don't the crayons kind of rub off/smudge against the other pages? Hmm Im not really sure how to explain myself right :) To prevent it (like with charcoal) you pray it with fixative or something so that doesn't happen?

  • pray = spray

  • thanks lovexsyndrome! because these particular crayons are wax, it's not too bad with the smudging! pastel crayons (the chalk ones) are worse that way and i'd advice spraying indeed! :-)

  • woops. sorry! that was me, logged in as another username i have! :-)

  • very nice . if yur bored check out my new chalk pastel crazy drawing.

  • Very fun, I may try this :) I already do the pencil in mouth thing haha

  • :-) good luck with it! and oh yes, the pencil in the mouth thing is essential! ;)

  • hi im not sure what your name is im so sorry i saw this video and fell in love again with the idea im an artist ive been doing art for 13 years and when artists like you and suzi blu come along i feel im now connected yeah i want to see another video please do you live in america now i hope so love gina

  • hi gina! :-) i don't live in america, but i am still here at the moment. we will be back in the uk arround the 10th of jan and i hope to do more videos then! i miss doing it and sharing them, but i'm having a great time away. :-) hope to see some of your art one day too!! xoxo tam

  • I really enjoyed watching this! It's so unique and adorable! I like the texture that the torn page gives to the background.

One question, tho: Why do you cover the entire base with different colors of crayone when it's going to be covered? Why not just the part that will be exposed around the edges?

  • Hi Judi! thanks for watching commenting! it really meets my need for connection and self expression. :-)

to answer your question: i covered the background like that because that it what i felt like doing and i didn't know yet that i was going to cover it without any transparency later. :-) it's kind of like a process of 'coming into being' if you will. :)

  • I DID enjoy this, Tam. Gorgeous. I admire the faces you draw. I need practice with mine. so, the paint is the secret behind the layers, huh? I was so frustrated at my beautiful oil pastels. They fell SOOOOOO good, especially when you SMOOSH 'em..... but GRRRRRRRRR... try to glue over it! This entry is lovely.

  • You make it look so easy...and so beautiful! Thanks for share your beauty with us

  • This was really interesting! I love the style of this piece and how you mixed so many different mediums. I always have at least one paint brush in my mouth while I work so I laughed at that part, hehe.

  • pencil or brush in the mouth is the sign of a true artiste! ;) thanks for watching lindsey! xo
