Very good stuff. I will be trying a few of these ideas out. Knoppix is a great choice as far as live cd's because it seems to be alot lighter then ubuntu. Runs smoother on older machines with older hardware. Thanks for the very helpful presentation.
I think it would be more useful to cover customizing the Ubuntu CD since it provides a better alternative to businesses that want to use a product with corporate liability.
I'm just repeating something I read, but corporate liability is pretty much a myth. You won't get it with Knoppix, you won't get it with Ubuntu, and you won't get it with Microsoft, either.
And the Ubuntu CDs are pretty crappy as live CDs. I know because I just spent a week remastering every Ubuntu CD, and they were all fairly sluggish. They're really cool as demonstrator-installers, but they're not the powerful versitle tool that knoppix is.
I disagree with your comments on Ubuntu. Google for REMASTERSYS and use that with Ubuntu. With REMASTERSYS you can make great Live CD/DVDs or distro CD/DVDs based off what YOU install, give it a try, unless I'm responding to a troll.
