dude, when you think a song rocks while you're sober, t'aint nothin compared
to when you're high on weed... I mean seriously. Right now, smoke a bowl right now, and just listen to it. It honestly feels like you're in a fuckin' samurai jack toon. I watch a lot of samurai movies. Faves gotta be #1) zattoichi, #2) afro samurai #3) samurai champloo, #4) samurai jack. Then all the ninja movies. I mean, i was mentally living a samurai flick. Fuckin' awesome.
The original and the remix are two different expressions of the same heartbeat. The original is like walking the streets of a big city and the remix takes place in the lab of a mad scientist.
@willisan Nah, dude disagree. This remix has to do with walking around in the big city, being overwhelmed by everything big. The theme by the electric guitar kills it, it just makes you realize you're nothing in this big world...The accoustic guitars of the original place it in the mad scientist's place or smaller room.
So this is the song from that commercial? I recognized the horns/vocal sample as being the same as Ghostwriter, but somehow this just isn't sounding like the song from the promo to me.
this is the element of hip-hop that we need to bring back the creativity n the culture that created REAL hip-hop....not same bits with diffrent SouND effects n highly erelevent lyrics....DIG
First, you can't bring back the creativity or the culture. Hip-hop is unique in both where/where it came from. It certainly doesn't need a reinvention.
Second, the only way hip-hop can progress is if the artists focus on music theory not on lyrics. The lyrics today are just as disingenuous to the listener as they were during it's conception. Today's audience has little in common with today's artists, let alone the artists from the mid 80s.
i am with retardburner, (im not infavour of burning retards) yeah this version is so much better than the original, busier, and this song really gets me going when im freerunning
Ghostwriter was the first song I heard from RJD2, There's not a single song he's done that I don't like but up until the moment I heard this, the original Ghostwriter was my favorite. I didn't think it could get any better, but holy crap. This is just amazing.
@retardburner I can relate on that. This comment was posted so long ago that it feels awkward to make a reply to it but this is a really good remix. Probably because it sounds nicer in the way that the sounds and rythms transition better than in the original.
