We test drove the 2011 GLS last weekend. Two words.... ROAD NOISE !!! ...and too much of it.

We loved the car, but as soon as we got on less than perfectly-smooth asphalt, we could not hold a conversation! It was worse than our Honda Civic which has low-profile, Bridgestone's (terrible tires).

Definitely a deal-breaker for us. And it's not just me...look at the reviews on Edmunds. The biggest complaint is the excessive road noise. Such a shame that Hyundai has not addressed this!

Does the 2011 have the same engine as the 2010? I noticed that the transmission is now a 6-speed and that's probably why there's more bhp now. I'm just figuring that if the powertrain is solid like the old one, that the electrical and other stuff covered under certified should be just as good as the Accords and Camrys.

drove a 6 speed standard one today and its way improved over an old model. the climate controls and a lot of the interior is nice and upscale. and it gets 35 mpg! some models have keyless push button start. Its no mercedes but id say well worth a look at if your looking for something in the 20k range

Very nice car. Just got a Top Pick from Insurance Institute for Highway Saftey. Drove one a few weeks ago.. I was very impressed. It is vastly improved over the last gen.. which was pretty damd good too. It was quiet, handled great, and had decent power considering the 35MPG highway. BTW this car and the last gen are made here in the USA in Montgomery Alabama.

What I like in the engine compartment are that service items are easy to access.

Even the battery is right there, in the engine compartment.

This is in contrast to a car like the Dodge Avenger, where the battery is located within the driver side wheel well, requiring removal of the driver side tire for access in case of a problem requiring replacement of the battery.

Actually black and tan are the most common and most loved color combo.  Old school bmw's started the trend.
