They should remake this with modern graphics. I like Dirt 3, but the roads are rather wide. Of course most of the people who buy Dirt 3 are gamers and not rally pilots, so the narrow roads would've been too much of a complaint.

How did you do a profile game? I got through the exercise of the first rally school, but it can not be saved because there is no profile, and start menu, it's profile is like a black thing, or it can not go .. What to do?
try to play stupid but good looking dirt3 and then try this, youll see how easy you can crash, and how realistic car feels like, dirt sucks, thats for sure, cars ther are going like on rails...
I find this sim to be far easier to drive than any arcade car game out there, Dirt as an example just feel unnatural and that makes it a lot harder to get any sort of feeling for the driving, same goes for track racing games. Really wish game developers would stop treating us like 2 year olds with the ability of a monkey and give us a proper rally game. yes it will take 1 hour longer to learn but thats about it, it would actually be easier as you didnt have to relearn a new type of arcade.
OK, I've played this game extensively, I've almost completely mastered it.... I can tell you that the AI on its hardest level is not difficult to beat.... The ai's fastest stage times seem to corrospond to clean error free stage runs but nothing spectacular nor flat out maximum attack....
But every once in a while the AI may post an impressive stage time.....
I have noted that, the AI is not very quick on Snow (Finland), and neither on Tarmac (France)

@dalmaximus But what should it be called? Kinda funny how two guys who were rally drivers and had games based on them both died. By the way the Rally Sport is dead, there is like only 3 car teams and when some private funded. Teams that left the Rally sport wich I remember: Toyota, Hyndai Peugot, Subaru, Skoda and Mitsubishi. And no good rally game have been released since RBR. So sad, becuse I prefer rally over racing.
@Nefus1988 this is actually the most realistic rallygame out there, in other games u can drive as fast as u can, but thats not how u do it in real rally. in this game if u drive to fast but cant control the car proberly then u end up crashing
@Jop3lius I know my comment wasn´t about bashing RBR. I played it alot once in 2006 and sometimes in 2007 with the G25 wheel. Would have played this game more if I had a racing setup.

Obviously a good idea would be if different diffuculty levels decreased or increased the stages length. Like if you play on the hardest difficulty a stage should take like 15 minutes to finish while on easiest difficulty it should take like 2 minutes.
i tried to play this with an xbox pad and its impossible, its always turning either right or left so there is no control, its alright, the physics arent that good, i prefer something like san andreas where i can turn corners how i want, the problem i have with all these rally games is they have no grip, you cant turn you always have to drift

if you have a good computer play dirt3 (it's awesome), but if you have a lame pc like me try xpand rally xtreme because is more realistic and the graphics are better
@mariu97able you're talking about graphics, ok RBR is a bit old, but physics are just amazing and I know for sure Dirt 2/3 isn't a rally simulator. Peace!
@mariu97able and LFS is only good for drifting, if you want a fully realistic racing experience i would highly suggest checking out iracing, may be a bit expensive at first, but its well worth the money at the end of the day
@padz95 This game was released for the PS2, so if your PS3 is one that can play PS2 games you're in luck. Not all PS3's have backwards compatibility though from what I understand.
@padz95 if your looking for realism on the ps3 i'd go for the Dirt series, they aren't as real as pc sims such as Richad Burns Rally but they're probalbly the closest you'll get with a ps3, i've tried Dirt 2 on my pc and it feels quite realistic physically considering its more of a console game and its graphics are way better than any pc sim i know apart from iRacing maybe (look it up, it's worth it) ;-)
I haven't played in a couple of years but it works with three screens. You have to download some user created app for RBR that allows you to adjust the screen size from what I remember. I getting ready to reinstall it now, I want to try it with Frex simconmotion because it wasn't supported back then but it is now.

NEW PROBLEM:
Im playi whith a ps3 controller mapped to my keyboard via motionjoy. However, when i remap my gear up and gear down keys to 7 and 8 on the keyboard, every time i sign in and out of RBR the controls do not get saved. It's annoying to have to reset my controller every time i play. any help?
If you're watching this and don't know, there is a large modding community for this game and they have 2010 and 2011 mods with the new cars and drivers. It's still one of the best games out there and I just bought another copy for 10 bucks, SHIPPED, on Amazon.
basically, chirdonhead is the track where you can go flat-out on every corner, its just a matter of line you drive. For example the left-rights somewhere after the first 90* turn, you dont have to brake at all, just put your car sideways using the little bump over there and watch the physics do the rest. Not a bad run though, my PR is 3:20 with a C4, and still its 20 seconds slower than a world record :|
@kbrinks you need to download the Rallyesim MOD for it. If you'r going to do that though, Make sure to re-install the game in your C drive in a custom folder instad of Program files or it won't work. I'll upload a video to show you a Group B rally car on this track if you want in the snow! :P
I wish I could get this game to work right. Damn windows 7 causes all my old games to lock the pc up all the time. I cant even finish one lap of Imola on GTR2 without restarting the PC. RBR is just as bad...
@FT9910 i wonder if its my hardware...ever since i made the jump from xp to 7 i have horrible issues with old dx9 games. Oblivion was the worst with very frequent freezes, UT2004 will freeze but very rarely. GTR2 freezes on Imola only, Dark Messiah wont work at all. RBR freezes all the time. Im thinking about building a whole new system because of this.
Correct me if i am wrong but this wasn't released on Xbox or PS2 for USA right.. gamespot says it was "cancelled" but i know there's a PAL version? I guess it only leaves the PC I played the demo and wow it's tough but it does feel very realistic and i've played most rally games.
@hennessey861 it was released in europe for PS2/Xbox, but not the USA :(....you can still get it on ebay for PC though, i am most likely going to do that.
@Toyeboy89 you can also buy it new from amazon.com, it will ship from the UK but it's still quite cheap (I think I paid 14.99 or something like it recently), it's definitely worth it.
Oh, and lol at all the people saying Colin McRae x or DiRT x is better! RBR is a sim, like Grand Prix Legends or iRacing, the Colin McRae series is arcade, like Sega Rally. Chalk and cheese.
Well. It always depends to what you are comparing it to. In comparison to Dirt2 it looks pretty lame, but thank god, that's not important if the game is good, although it never hurts, if a game looks good.
I also can add some good gameplay elements, like visible impairments through raindrops on the windshield. I'm very excited to see the rain effects in Dirt3, after seeing the rain effects in F1 2010. Although this wont be a good simulator it will hopefully be a great fun racer.
With the last version of RSRBR you get a reality comparable gameplay plus, if you have a good pc and graphix card you get realistic environment. check out my vids, you will see that RBR is faaaaaaaaaaaar much better than wrc 2010 in terms of graphics ;)

@Rexart35 Ok So say I prefer trade gameplay(best rally phisics) off for better graphic.Insead saying dirt is better.In this case even rbr graphic is great for the phisics what you get.And notice ,to recording rbr replay you need lower lot v.card settings. But in rbr never drive outside cam ,otherwise you wont feel the phisics.
RBr is like counter strike :hard on start but with each progress increases the gameplay.It wants not getting old.
when im older i want to become a rally driver... and wow this game just makes me jizz!!! Rally = TRUE DRIVING.. oh and did you know... most V8 Drivers are rally drivers that are only doing V8 racing to help keep a bit of their skill ;) haha ahh Rall for life and imma get this game tonight!!!

@kbrinks All others are ARCADE and not simulators. RBR is simulator - bad graphics, but perfect physics.

@kbrinks you need to download the Rallyesim MOD for it. If you'r going to do that though, Make sure to re-install the game in your C drive in a custom folder instad of Program files or it won't work. I'll upload a video to show you a Group B rally car on this track if you want in the snow! :P

I wish I could get this game to work right. Damn windows 7 causes all my old games to lock the pc up all the time. I cant even finish one lap of Imola on GTR2 without restarting the PC. RBR is just as bad...

@FT9910 i wonder if its my hardware...ever since i made the jump from xp to 7 i have horrible issues with old dx9 games. Oblivion was the worst with very frequent freezes, UT2004 will freeze but very rarely. GTR2 freezes on Imola only, Dark Messiah wont work at all. RBR freezes all the time. Im thinking about building a whole new system because of this.

Correct me if i am wrong but this wasn't released on Xbox or PS2 for USA right.. gamespot says it was "cancelled" but i know there's a PAL version? I guess it only leaves the PC I played the demo and wow it's tough but it does feel very realistic and i've played most rally games.

@hennessey861 it was released in europe for PS2/Xbox, but not the USA :(....you can still get it on ebay for PC though, i am most likely going to do that.

Oh, and lol at all the people saying Colin McRae x or DiRT x is better! RBR is a sim, like Grand Prix Legends or iRacing, the Colin McRae series is arcade, like Sega Rally. Chalk and cheese.

I just playerd WRC 2010 and it really sucks. It made me thinking, which was the last good rally game i have played in the past and i remembered RBR.
This video brought back so many good memories, that i have to play this game again now. Screw WRC 2010. Graphics is as bad as RBR anyways.
BTW: Nice driving.

Well. It always depends to what you are comparing it to. In comparison to Dirt2 it looks pretty lame, but thank god, that's not important if the game is good, although it never hurts, if a game looks good.
I also can add some good gameplay elements, like visible impairments through raindrops on the windshield. I'm very excited to see the rain effects in Dirt3, after seeing the rain effects in F1 2010. Although this wont be a good simulator it will hopefully be a great fun racer.

With the last version of RSRBR you get a reality comparable gameplay plus, if you have a good pc and graphix card you get realistic environment. check out my vids, you will see that RBR is faaaaaaaaaaaar much better than wrc 2010 in terms of graphics ;)

@Rexart35 Ok So say I prefer trade gameplay(best rally phisics) off for better graphic.Insead saying dirt is better.In this case even rbr graphic is great for the phisics what you get.And notice ,to recording rbr replay you need lower lot v.card settings. But in rbr never drive outside cam ,otherwise you wont feel the phisics.
RBr is like counter strike :hard on start but with each progress increases the gameplay.It wants not getting old.

when im older i want to become a rally driver... and wow this game just makes me jizz!!! Rally = TRUE DRIVING.. oh and did you know... most V8 Drivers are rally drivers that are only doing V8 racing to help keep a bit of their skill ;) haha ahh Rall for life and imma get this game tonight!!!
