That's some good playing there. I practiced this song without my kit and i know it's a lot of work. But there is some more practice for you to do to master this song so keep up and have fun! :)
you are definitely on the right track but you shouldnt post this video m8. out of time with your right hand quite often and last bit just made me laugh(dont take it as i want to offend you because i know it sounds that way) you are definitely able to play just give it more practice and post final thing
to cyni eidolon: read my commment again im not saying this guy is a di ck or something he just need more practice and if you are saying that he did great i bet you are not playing any instrument or you have no sense of rythm at all
You have no sense of grammar. And from here on out, I'm just going to call you a fucking idiot. 'Cause, well, it's apparent that you are. Reply with your pathetic internet insults all you want. You're still a fucking idiot. This kid did a good job.
to cyniceidolon: you are the one thats coming up with insults, and my english might not be perfect its my second language. the only thing i wrote is that he is on the right track to play this, but its not finished. if you cant hear that its not in time (not through the whole track) i think you dont have a sense of rythm. you think he is great? you cant hear he is not in time? well ive seen another comment saying that maybe im not alone. your insults show thst you lack a bit of english to ...cunt
you not being in the band is the exact opposite of whats going in where i live..theres tons of fucking talentless fucktards forming a different band everyday. every local band here is shit. theres probably over 100
I'm thinking of making a doom/prog band. I'm a six string bassist (BEADF#B) and would probably hire another bassist (all bass yo). My influences aren't crap mallcore (like nS4neone) and include Meshuggah, Manowar, Skepticism, Thergothon, Deathspell Omega, Craft, Necromantia, Dissection, Rotting Christ, among others. Think Meshuggah's slower stuff (like this) over classically inspired melodies with chunky ass bass. All I need is a drummer (for now) and I'm set.
Dumb idea. Don't use two bassists. One bassist is enough. Really, two bass sounds will 'conflict' on the album. TOo much low end is never good. Two guitars can have different settings and still sound like guitars but two basses will always have a good amount of bass (go figure) so they'll conflict and it'll sound like crap.
I have a 6 string bass, it sounds 50/50 like guitar and bass. It also has active EQ, so I can eq one track like a guitar or whatever. It should work well with doom metal, since doom needs a lot of bass anyway.
dude great job. im a guitarist looking for a band if you were in my area (ontario) id love to jam, my main influences are Meshuggah,Slipknot,Lamb of God,Tool, old Korn, deftones and so much more
A tip on the difficult drum section starting at 2:48 (in case you didn't already know): The rhythm is exactly the same as the very beginning section: the only difference is, instead of playing the whole rhythm on bass, it's bass and snare (the snare is played to match up with the higher of the two guitar pitches used). Minding this should make it easier to learn. I hope this helps; it's difficult to describe verbally but hopefully it made sense haha
nice. i've only been playing for like 7 months myself. Rational Gaze was quite literally THE reason I wanted to buy a drum set in the first place haha
At the beginning you seem to tense, you loosen more to the end though. You remind me of this older drummer, he does the same lip scrunch thing when he plays.
keep practicing, the part which you played wrong and after which you stopped isn't that hard if hear what's going on.. the snare and the kick just follow eachother very quickly
este wea tiene unos pequeños problemas con los tiempos.. pues la ritmica central del tema esta bien pero esta meo perdido con lo que son las tonicas de los compases y los contrapuntos.. pero en fin, medianamente buena presentacion del tema.. cheers from chile!
lol. I really doubt anyone is going to be playing bleed anytime soon. I talked to Haake during the listening party for Obzen and it took him 7 months to learn the song. Props to anyone who can even keep up with their crazy playing.
damn my band could use a drummer like you

Record some drums, make up your own rhythms, I'm pretty musically literate, I can come up with something on top of it. Too bad you live in Canada.

nice man, sounds good. you get a lot more loose in the end and it sounds better. but still silly.
tonydoberman21 3 years ago
did you gate the signal by any chance man? the cymbals suddenly dying sounds like gating with a really fast hold and release time
mescalitoismygod 3 years ago
I didn't do any special like that.. just synced the song underneath it in windows movie maker.. proably just the camera i'd suppose.

121DRUMMER 3 years ago
the end is completley correct except for the first bit where i miss the snare beat. If youd read my description you'd have known that.

speed only sounds wrong because hes slightly sloppy

good effort, a 'shuggah tune is hard to learn, especially on the kit.
