i grew up in s. a. and i was at this concert. the showcase was cool, because you could see all the real bands there. it only held about 300 people and the sound was awesome. my favorite shows there were gwar. i saw them there about 3 times all around this time period. awesome venue. i am in the very beginning of this video, biefly. i do miss deadhorse. cool man, thanks for the post.
the showcase fuckin RULED! spent 90 - 92 going to more shows than i can remember, then walking down to the circle K to get some gatorade and recover.
i saw sadus, obituary, and sepultura - deicide, the crowd broke the barrier and the show was stopped until they fixed it - skatenigs - pantera - agnostic front - S.W.A.G. (spanked with a goody) - and many more! sucks that more video isn't out there, but back then i could barely afford a ticket, let alone a camcorder. HA!
Man, the Showcase.... memories, sweet blurry memories. I remember when VenJentz played there. So many years, and beers, ago! To be a teenager again leaving the Showcase bleeding......oh sweet pain.....
i used to be a bouncer at the showcase from '92 up until it became headliners. i love that place and that job. the stories i could tell, i'm not the incriminating type though. now the scene has gone to shit. carlos needs to open up another club. i would work for him again
I remember hearing "world war whatever" on college radio in San Antonio on KSYM 90.1! Shortly thereafter i joined some friends to catch Dead Horse at the Showcase and being a fresh faced innocent youth was asked by the friend who took me: "You gettin' in the pit?" "Maybe,"I replied scared out of my gourd! "You will" he assured me! Moments later i was whirled into a maelstrom of elbows and delight! I never left the pit and im still shouting:"They're tring to microwave my brain!!!"
I was the vocalist for the death metal band CRUCIFIX from Dallas,TX and we were the band that went on right before them. San Antonio death metal band, INDIGNATION, started off the night. We had a lot of fun that night. I especially was thrilled to return to my home town and rock the fuck out!! DEAD HORSE put us on the bill for that night and they're super cool guys too. We've played with them a few more times in Dallas.
this is Pablo...I managed the Showcase for 10 years...Dead Horse were some of the coolest fuckers to play the Showcase...man this video brings back fond memories..NIN, RHCP, Pantera, Slayer, Ministry, Sepultura, Greenday, Genitorturers, Soundgarden, Gwar, Scorpions, and countless other bands blew the fucking roof off the Showcase stage...Carlos Garcia (the owner) my buddy since high school ...you were and still are a fucking legend in San Antonio ..you booked the bands Sneakers were scared of
Hey Pablo, I miss the fuckin Showcase. I saw so many fuckin bands there. One of my faves was 2 Live Crew or it was Luke Skywalker there. How is Carlos? I use to work at Hogwild Records and hung out with night Rocker, Ruben Luna, Eric & Fred, Evil Mothers, etc. Great memories bro. CHEERS!
I kiss your lips your eyes fell out, on to the floor be hind the door , i picked the up and washed them off and placed the back up on your face '' mike you write the best sickest songs ever !!!! horse core !!!till the end.
This always pisses me off. Scottish Hell is a great song, but on the album comes straight off Subhumanity, and that is a fucking killer. They should play those two songs straight ahead...and i'll bow my head.
i have the subhumanity jam but the tape gets mess up and its just mostly the crowd moshing in the video, but if you really want me to post it, i will.
were is dead horse now¿?i really love this band,i still have the tape of the album peaceful death and pretty flowers, and this is the first time to i see a video of dead horse
First saw them at a shit-hole called the pic n pac ice house, anybody remember that joint? But they made it well worth it!

I was sold when the played Nazi Youth at Jimmy's in New Orleans 1990
We got them to come play a show at "The Pit" in Baton Rouge that summer. Those guys were the best. Keep the DH flowin!!
