@xxrachel22xx Could you please tell me more about them? what do you mean that they were boys up to no good? I would be proud too ,to be Australian aboriginal.
These guys should add more to their repertoire . A few ideas of the top of my head are the hokey pokey, the macarena and hey ya i think would all be hilarious.
Why? There is just so much merriment and happiness in the room. It's amazing to see such talent celebrated and help show people that the Indigenous culture can give so much to society. They have such a rich and amazing culture, something anglo-saxon Australia could only dream of.
I'm not saying this in a patronising way, but we should all celebrate the amazing Aboriginal culture, not spout out crap about them having to completely assimilate :)
@JuliaJane27 sounds pretty patronising to me. i respect their right to their cultural heritage and their right to have us white colonials leave them the fuck alone, but "we should all celebrate the amazing Aboriginal culture" please!!!. true Aboriginal culture is nothing to celebrate its just their culture and its deeply flawed in many ways. we white folks travel the world visiting tourist blinker stops and harp on about their cultural beauty like a snob prattles on pretentiously about wine.
@boosomentity you have got to be kidding. Aboriginal culture needs to be celebrated so that it's not forgotten. I can think of many many more flawed cultures, including those who invade others lands and then wipe them out because they want the land. Just because its not your culture, doesn't mean it's not amazing in its own way. Grow a sense of cultural awareness.
@allatheaussie I haven't been keeping track of replies to my original comment, so it makes me happy to see that you replied with something that makes sense, to the comment that turned something positive I said into something negative. Thank you for being on the same page :)
Very well done, very funny! However do you think that if a group of Greeks danced like Aboriginals at a comedy festival that they would receive a round of a applause from the Greek community?
@AkitaTom, hey they are not dancing like greek people they are just dancing to a greek song they are not dressed as greeks r they, they are using their own moves and unique style, i have lived in an aboriginal community for 3 yrs and when the community has traditional dancing i get up and dance like a white man and its all just fun and good times. if the greek community wants to dance with us, come on over.
@abremaline there's a whole new generation of chooky dancers. I work at an indigenous boarding school in qld and we have students that dance this and other fun dances as well as there traditional dances.
@kirrijirri , i THINK i seen these boyz dancing on th movie jus released 2010 kalld "bran nue dae" .. on th bak ov a ute ey , on th way tu broome tu play footy n they start dancin tu tht same song , maddd bruz i love tht part
Fantastic I love it. This is so funny I just can't stop laughing every te I see it. This is true Australian culture. People respecting and honouring cultures that aren't their own but mix well with our own to make people laugh.
