FYI, "Diem" in "Diem xua" is the name of a lovely girl. "Trinh Cong Son", the author of this song, loved her very much, when was in Hue, the former capital of Vietnam. He watched her passing in front of his house, on the way to high school, day by day. That's a romantic love story but ...

By the way, is there anyone who can translate "Japanese" version of this song into English or Vietnamese so that I can understand. I wonder if it's same as original one.

I don't think "Diem" is the name of a lovely girl like you said. It could be a different meaning, "Diem" means beauty, charm. "Diem Xua" means old charm.

Call to my memory about this song, 1st time performed by Khanh Ly at the World Expo'70 Osaka, Japan under japanese title "Utsukushii Mukashi", then my friends and me sang this song in japanese at the university of Saigon - recently performed again in Japan by Yoshimi Tendo. Unforgettable!
