Secondly, although personally I find it wrong to kill an unarmed man, the reasoning might have been that if they tried to get him alive, he might get away. And it's safer for the troops themselves to give them license to kill. Thirdly, the report said that he "resisted" which could mean that they did try to tell him to surrender first.

After the CIA alerted Obama and the Navy Seals, Obama gave the go-ahead, which was the right thing to do. However, any President would have given the green light to go after Bin Laden. The sharpness of the beard and the mouth is different to the top of the head, but shoulder is also sharper. Hair on the head is visible and sharp, the hair on the beard is blurry. @TheCarambah There's a huge difference. Bin Laden was not innocent. We know this, he said it himself on various videos that he made, he was proud of what he did. Secondly, although personally I find it wrong to kill an unarmed man, the reasoning might have been that if they tried to get him alive, he might get away. And it's safer for the troops themselves to give them license to kill. Thirdly, the report said that he "resisted" which could mean that they did try to tell him to surrender first.
