the lap time will ultimatley decide what league the 12c is in .
i hope it does beat the GTRs time i like the technology used to make the one piece chassis amazing .
but its kind of annoying they did not use the 3 seater patent to effect .
im not sure what price range the 12c will be in but im guessing its more than ferrari 458 money so why not make it into a Mclaren F1 2010 .3 seats with a modern 8500 rpm + engine
why dont Mclaren make a Gemballa MIG-U1 rival imagine how good a 2010 Mclaren f1 could be with all the new technology available and production methods the innovation of the f1 sets it apart and with the USP of 3 seats
the F1 was a real supercar i still have the autocar Black book that came out when it was launched and when Jay leno shows his car off on youtube it still looks amazing
to put the Nissan GTR into context
it has the same 0-60 time as the MCLAREN F1 as crazy as that sounds
I respect the noise, power and technology of this car, but still think the styling is too dull and generic, especially compared to the Ferrari 458 and LP560-4.
@Mubble Yep absolutely but I have a feeling that this car may will outperform both of those cars by quite a wide margin.... this car will be extremely desirable and I'm quite certain when it does make production it will look absolutely stunning.,
define the meaning of a supercar

slower but much more expensive ?
to me the nissan GTR is a supercar as its faster than so many so called supercars

or Lateral G limit
Hicas
Yaw control
turbo lag
DSG QuickShifts
those are just some things to factor in when speculating on lap times of lower BHP cars
and dont forget the GTR can be tuned to 600 BHP with very minor work ie a boost up and revised exhaust and a few other bolt on parts

yep the GTR's time is 7:26.70 and the 911 turbo is 7:38 and the GT2 did it in 7:32.02. so ye the GTR raped Porsche big time.

I was actualy wondering how you were "sure" the new McLaren wouldn't beat the GTR's time.
The new McLaren won't even be in the same league as the GT2!
Even an old M3 CSL with a few tweaks (see the "Loaded Time Attack" video pisses all over the GTR so the MP4-12C will have no problem!
I think a lot of people are underestimating this new car because of it's fairly understated looks.

Because the MP4-12C is just the first of a new 3 car range. A 458/Gallardo rival costing around £150k- £170k.
The 911/R8 rival (around £70k) expected next and the full monty, range topping beast (£350k- £450k) last.
Wheather the big daddy will be a 3 seater or not is debateable as that was Gordon Murray's design and he's no longer with McLaren.
Oh, and it's so much more than just performance alone that defines a "Supercar" which is why many (including me) don't see the GTR as one.
