A classical pianist who went to boarding school is about as far from the 'hood as a person can get. She dressed like a librarian when she was 18!
It's so refreshing to have a talented singer/actor as Macy Gray...what with all the commercial singers out there. Macy...keep up the good work. I don't care what you do in your personal life (drugs, etc) I live for good music and so far you're keeping me alive. ;-) (OK...ok a little over dramatic, I know.)
I saw Macy Gray last night in Helsinki. I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed. She only played like 1 and half hours and only a few old songs. It wasn't lousy but she could have done it so much better.
Didn't see this until now, but did see her on Letterman. I think she suffered without Natalie or something.. But this just wan't good.. But still 5 stars because Macy is the best!
She struggled with this performance. The Letterman show performance was much better. She's very talented but I'm still not in love with her new album. I think "The ID" was brilliant but it was released just a week after 9/11 when nobody was buying anything.
