Poor ppl , especially civilians. God , human beings are so fukin evil to each other.How can them soldiers have massacred the women n children in st peters church n burn it ffs ? And most of the victims in Drogheda were English. Cromwell was a hypocrite . Its 2012 and we are STILL fukin evil to other innocent ppl . I bet like me , most Irish dont even know that most victims in Drogheda were English ppl . Seems Cromwell woulda killed his own brother if he thought it was gonna help him get victory
I wonder if the military custom in Wellington's time - once a practicable breach had been made, if the garrison did not surrender, could then expect no quarter - was a part of the reason for this massacre 200 years earlier. Guess I'll have to read some more books on this subject.
