nice video and green house, I am no expert, but for the amount of work that was put in, I think you need to make those a little bit bigger, twice the size :- ) Good job!
Sorry guys if I have not been responding in a timely manner to your questions. Youtube is now sending all responses to my videos to my gmail account which I hardly ever check. This is a new problem that has popped up for a lot of youtube users and there does not seem to be a solution. I will try to check my gmail more often. Thanks for your patience.
@Veravanwhoop By the way, the husband is outside right now cutting windows into the sides of the greenhouse. The springs and summers here in Florida are just too hot for greenhouse plants. Also, been having a problem with moisture and mildew. I think it's because there is no breeze flowing through the greenhouse. So, we shall see how the new windows work this season. Wish us luck. :)
@Veravanwhoop This greenhouse is just beautiful! I purchased a 6' x 8' one from Lowe's (Spring Gardener). I like the fact that it has screened mesh windows and 2 doors (but they were a pain in the butt since they're zippered and you have to roll them up and down all the time). I decided to return it after a week. I want something more substantial like yours. Two questions for you...what are the dimensions of your GH & do you have any plans/blueprints of it? Thank you very much!! :o) -Melissa
Excellent, well done guys, brilliant greenhouse, top tradesmen, nice to see things been done right, my kids are starting there own veg patch and this has given me a great solution for a greenhouse, Regards from Ireland.
Oh, you're in Florida. I was going to ask how hot it gets in there. The main reason I'm looking to build a greenhouse is to get an early jump in spring (in Michigan) on planting and have a longer harvest into the fall.
It looks like you didn't skimp on materials. I'd probably go with some cheaper form of glass. Good job, looks great.
nice setup. very quaint. i definitely have to give my regards to the builder. very clean lines. only a master craftsman could have constructed edges that clean.
I am selling plans on how to build Pyramid Shaped Greenhouses on ebay. I produced the plans myself. Go check it out at ebay and search: Pyramid Greenhouse Building Plans
Not too bad. Great for killing lettuce. There are some things you just can't grow in Florida in the heat. Just planted squash, tomatoes, bell peppers...all doing good.
This is a very well built greenhouse. I am currently looking into building one but I was hoping you could tell me where you got the plans as I can't locate them. I appreciate the help.
For those that are asking about plans, you should checkout the buildeasy -dot-com website (I can't use weblinks here in youtube). Search under greenhouses and you will find it. Many thanks for their plans and pictures.
Nice job! What are the dims on it...I'm in the process of planning one similar and thinking of an 8X12 with vinyl sliding windows I got from somebody for free. I like how yours turned out and got some great ideas!
The panels were purchased at Lowe's. They come in 12 and 16 foot for $16 and $20 respectively. Prices may have changed since then. they are the polycarbonate ones; not the PVC. The foam gap spacers were also bought at Lowe's.
Right now, our green bean plant is still going strong. Corn plants didn't make it. They were sort of stunted. Tomato plants and green pepper plant is doing great! The weather has been very mild here in Florida. We might plant onions next. The sheeting and most other components were bought at either Home Depot or Lowes.
That's nice. Tell them to come build one for me & while they're at it, just go ahead and bring that box trailer. I've been wanting one just like it. You know, those are my kind of guys. There's something about men at work that is so attractive ; )
Hello, SUPER !!!!! A great idea.

a bit small but very good looking, cost ann is the wafers plastic or fiberglass?
silverpizza100 2 years ago
The concrete pillars have one rod of rebar each down the center. I believe the whole thing cost about $1500. That's corrugated plastic.
Veravanwhoop 2 years ago
@Veravanwhoop How long will that plastic last?
smurfboywv 11 months ago
@smurfboywv The greenhouse is now 3 years old and the plastic is still in great shape. I'd say it would last at least 15 to 20 years.
Veravanwhoop 11 months ago
@Veravanwhoop I have 6mil plastic on mine, and although this type you use is $20 a sheet, I think its well worth it. Now just to insulate the walls!

Great looking greenhouse, very solid foundations, how come you have it off the ground? do you have termites? or flooding perhaps?
MaZEEZaM 2 years ago
Thanks! That area is prone to standing water and the ground is not level.
Veravanwhoop 2 years ago
did u use reed bar in the concrete/?
silverpizza100 2 years ago
@silverpizza100 you don't use rebar in those cylinders in his appplication.

how much did it cost to build?
sweetlikecarmel 2 years ago
We didn't really keep records but think it was about $800 to $1000. That's with free labor.

do you need a lot of construction experience to build this?
envolopettly 3 years ago
You would probably need to know the basics. Someone who has prior experience building things helped us.
Veravanwhoop 3 years ago
looks good, im wondering does it block smell because i love going out side and enjoying the smell of fresh tomatoes
envolopettly 3 years ago
It's pretty much self-contained. You can't really smell anything outside of the greenhouse. Smells wonderful inside.
Veravanwhoop 3 years ago
that looks great. are you still able to grow in the colder month too and could you say where you bought the sheeting?
