  • where do you get this record??? does anybody have a d/l link???

  • did skrillex get influence from ann steel?

  • did crystal castles get influence from ann steel?

  • So wait, who did the original - Telex or Ann Steel? Regardless, both versions are awesome!

  • @singinglawnchair Roberto Cacciapaglia

  • @singinglawnchair

Ann Steel did the original. Telex liked it so much they covered it. Personally I prefer Telex' version.

  • OMG... great one, can't get hold on this record!!!

  • I remember the single, a pic of her close-up in that hat....seems it was before 1979

  • Roberto Cacciapaglia

  • What babies? I just wrote that, as far as I know, she didn't record other famous songs after this one.

  • ....................wat

  • Ahhh. If only someone could help me out with the spoken-word part right after she says "Dr Einstein, I'm going supernova. There's not a single thing that you can do."

I got it up to there and after she says "...Dr. Einstein and Mrs. Einstein into the boat."

but right in between there... rrghghrh

  • @Jalkotsu Think she says "What should I do? Four men got Dr. Einstein and Mrs. Einstein into the boat."

  • Knew the Telex version, and love it, this version is very good! Glad to find it!

  • excellent track, thx a million!

  • Merci Merci Merci !

  • Im absolutely intrigued by this song. Found it via the Telex version. This track was produced in 1979 and they were talking about "do-it-yourself cybernetics", "stored data " and "Stored on the shelves of my memory, My thoughts are in perfect array " way back then??? Amazing. Anyway, i love this song...for some reason i can relate to it somehow...

  • before its time no doubt

I am a Telex fan and always wondered how the original sounded...

  • I need overwhelming information

    for a complete shopping list

    Arrylic colours oscillate my eyes

when i walk down a drugstore aisle

  • I learn do it yourself cybernetics

While i'm joggimg on a rolling tray

I love my weekends in the pure air

On the heights of the Eiffel tower

  • My life runs smooth like a highway

    billboards show rnw the way

My love stories have the flavour

of a swiss made digital watch

When i have to know what to love

    I recall my stored data

  • My time my time i lave my time my time has something more my time's the best there's ever been my time i love my time thank you my time My thoughts are still like a photo In the hall of a Hilton hotel My reflex actions are mechanized Like japanese camera tourists Happily milling in Bloorningdales shooting the beautifil symbols
  • I'm not english speaker, so can someone help me fill the blanks? There are two sentences I do not get (+ the spoken part, which I don't get at all!)

    I need overwhelming information

    ? my eyes

When I walk down the drugstore aisle

Stored on the shelves of my memory

My toughts are in perfect array

    ? cybernetics

When I'm jogging on a rolling tray

  • It is hard to understand. I can't make it out very well.

  • Single mix seems different to the album version, maybe not..

  • Hmmm... I usually like Telex (I am Belgian, lol), but in this case, honestly, their cover isn't that interesting to me. The Ann Steel's orchestration is unique !!!

  • Crap on a cracker!!!! I gotta get a copy of this!

  • The disc was recently submissive digitally, the album is the unusual in being made with acoustic instruments masked by electronic: means bottom lines are made to prepared piano, the sound of metal percussion is given by chains that touch the strings the plan, there is also the battery; many parts of guitar are engraved at low speeds and sometimes tapes running on the contrary. Produced/ arranged by Roberto Cacciapaglia who plays the piano, the harpsichord filtered, the portativo organ

  • I think I got about half of what you just wrote. But yeah, a lot of the instruments throughout the album are acoustic, yet made to sound electronic. I think you just backed you up what I always suspected, maybe?

  • How big was this song? Was it big in the UK?

  • can get all that she says... somebody would help me?

  • I WAS YOUNG, BUT I REMEMBER THAT

  • ウルトラグッジョブ!ずっと聴きたかった曲です

    &good-byマーク・ムーラン!

  • it's the onely song i heard of Ann Steel.

  • I remember this song very well, but it seems to me Ann Steel didn't do anything comparable anymore later.

  • @Michele640 she had babies. i was one of them....still am technically.

  • super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)
