Yeah I think it was a good move on MGL's part but I think the Estonian did make the counter... He grabbed the belt as soon as the move was made and went for the tani-otoshi. That being said, I've always thought that tani-otoshi shouldn't be allowed as a counter for uchimata. It can either look like this, or can twist the tori's ankle.
it was a slick counter.....only when you slow it down can you actually see him plant his foot down to create the torque to swing the Mongolian around to his back.
I´m agree that after new rules referees unfortunately deciding more&more the course of match. This fight-for sure Rothberg´s throw! Mongol started with Uchi-mata but didn´t complete it. Estonian waited that and made counter. Watch this pls. in slow mot. His back never touches tatami and mongol has no control what so ever over the move. Rothberg executed that throw similar situations with same accuracy many times that day! It´s hard to make better counter attack!!!
Thank you very much Grouls003 for these Rothberg´s judo videos, exellent!
Commentators - 100% Estonian´s attack! That is why it is called counter attack - you make a counter move. Same situation was in the video fight with KOR. In the future, please look more carefully who is really controls the throw and then make your "oh come on" comments!
@Joosu23 you are completely wrong. at best rothberg should have hoped for a no score, but to give ippon to him is yet another example of appaling refereeing which is more and more frequent these days.
that was a perfect uchimata why did he lose
